Orajarvi is one of the essential captures needed for a campaign victory. We already have Kemi-Tornio and Rovaniemi City (just about). Helping clearing out the ground units should help us progress.

Took off and used all the local steerpoints to make altitude FL220 before heading to the target area. I was to search SP7, 2 was to search out a known SA-6, 3 was to search between SP 6 and 7 and 4 was tasked with searching SP6 but had a tech and dropped out.
We all had 4 x GBU-54s. The only mobile target was found in between SP 6 and 7. No 3 and I attacked that column killing Shilkas and T-80s, among others. No 2 reported no joy in finding the SA-6. But an SU-30 found him, launching an R77 at him. He successfully evaded that. Other friendlies killed that bandit fairly quickly.
2 and I swapped roles but I couldn't find the SA-6 either. On reflection I believe we were fixated on finding mobile targets. If we had switched from GMT to GM mode we would have found them.
On review of the acmi it is confirmed that the SA-6 is no longer in the area.
Once Dakota we set up a CAP at FL240 but the skies were quiet. Our air superiority is nearly total in this area of the theatre.
On agreement with Mudhen, we RTB'd with a nice Echelon left approach and right break. Nice job and good SA and comms.

Flight Role: AI MUDHEN71: "Noodle" AA=0 AG=7 RTB MUDHEN72: "Mango" AA=0 AG=12 RTB MUDHEN73: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=6 RTB
MS
Execution: As briefed, MUDHEN7 attacked ground targets around the city of Orajarvi and successfully destroyed several tanks and shilkas. Air defences were quiet and picture was clear for most of the time with sufficient blue air to take care of it.
Anticlockwise wagon wheel over AO ingressing from SE with GBU-54s, #2 had troubles locating target but eventually found it after #3 sent markpoint over datalink. Bingo was lowered to 3000 due to delay and we came off target as soon as #2's last bomb hit the target.
Rejoined echelon right then left for OHB on 16R.
