WONSAN OCA The offensive operation to capture Hoeyang continues, with more brigades joining the push. A change in weather near Wonsan has allowed updated satellite reconnaissance of the airfield showing that runway repairs are nearing completion. We cannot allow this airbase to become active and threaten the ground progression. We are tasked with an OCA strike to deny enemy use of the facility.
This is a night mission and conditions are inclement at our airfields but clear over the target. SA-11s and AAA are active in the area.
Since the TS server password has been reset, everyone is asked to pre-test their connection to the TeamSpeak server BEFORE SUNDAY ... _ TS SERVER DETAILS _
We will be using the main server NOT THE BACKUP
The package will consist of 3 flights: 1 Strike, 1 SEAD, and 1 Sweep – objectives are:
- COWBOY1 – Destroy all runways at Wonsan --Departs from the 912th @ Yeoncheon TO= 0001 – Push STP3 @ 0014:15 -- Payload is free = currently loaded with BLU-107s

Mission success is all runways destroyed, no losses to the package by SAMs, and no losses from enemy air.
Alternate frags: 2-3 in OCA (low-level BLUs if 2 ship), 2-4 in SEAD/SWEEP (delay Devil1 3+ hours)
IDM and TACAN are per SOP

Flight Role: Escort/SEAD Devil11: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=0 RTB Devil12: "Homer" AA=0 AG=0 RTB

Plan - CAP at Southern point as per picture above while waiting for SEAD to engage AD. Switch to SEAD role as required to engage AD then switch back to CAP after calling Strike flight in. Follow rest of package back as tail end charlie.
Execution -
As fragged for first part, no air threats.
Once Gypsy called us in we engaged 3x SA-11 and 1x Firecan AAA radar. All shots missed despite being engaged in both HAD (AAA and 1x SA-11) and HAS (2x SA-11).
Back on CAP picked up 1 contact but it was C-17, no factor.
Slight mix up with Gyspy once miller time was called. We saw them heading South and followed but they turned back North so they went tail end charlie instead of us.
Landed on 05R using a TACAN approach.

Flight Role: OCA STR Cowboy11: "Fisty" AA=0 AG=3 RTB Cowboy12: "Echion" AA=0 AG=4 RTB Cowboy13: "Mango" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
MS
Ingress as fragged until STP 4, where we held while Gypsy and Devil engaged SA-11s at Tgt STP.
Once cleared in, Fisty & Mango stripped to respective IPs and went NOE. Fisty dropped all bombs on first pass, but Mango was unable to locate the runway and came off dry. So Echion was unleashed on Mango's runway and dropped his load all over it. Then Mango had another go at it and got 2 bombs off. Thanks to Gypsy and Devil for clearing the way of any SAM threats and the AAA firecan. Rejoin at Stp 4 then Straight in ILS to Rway 26 as per the charts. Good flying tonight from Green.

Took off, IFR, headed toward the target area. The plan was for #2 to take out the Fire Can, since everything else was unknown.
The FireCan did not light up, but a SA11 did, North of the target.
#1 & #3 took turns in engaging, after we were out of harms, #2 engaged, since the AAA radar was considered less of a priority.
Afterwards, we let Gipsy continue engaging.
When Cowboy took out the runways we continued CAPing until everyone else was cold, then we RTBed.
