Command & Control It’s time for an offensive push, serveral brigades have been ordered to capture Hoeyang to end this war. Their push will be supported by A-10s and AV-8Bs to soften any resistance up two routes to the city. Our job is disrupt the C&C in P’Yongyang, where top Army commanders are hunkered down at Han’gan-ni Radar station, the P’Yongyang Army Base, and Cheonan Com Control center. Without C&C, the DPRK will not be able to order a counter attack. We believe all communications flow through Han'gan-ni, so it is the priority.
This is a night mission and conditions are still inclement at the airfields and poor over the target.
The package will consist of 3 flights: 2 Strike, and 1 Sweep – objectives are:
- COWBOY1 – Completely destroy the Han’gan-ni Radar facility (STP7) --Departs from the 911th @ Chongju TO= 2141
- FALCON1 – Destroy high value buildings at P’Yongyang Army base (STP6) and Cheonan CC (STP-7) --Departs from the 911th @ Chongju TO= 2143
(push to later if fewer than 8 pilots)
- FURY1 – Provide air cover for the package --Departs from the 912th @ Yeoncheon TO= 2140
(may go as 2 ship)
COWBOY1 – 4 ship equipped with GBU-54 L-JDAMs The Weapons Officer has determined that the targets require the following ordinance: … STP7 Depots (3) – 2 GBU-54s each … Radars (2), radio Towers (2), Barracks (2) – 1 GBU-54 each
FALCON1 – – 4 ship equipped with GBU-54 L-JDAMs ___=== This flight is provided if more than 8 attend ===___ The Weapons Officer has determined that the targets require the following ordinance: … STP6 Depot – 2 GBU-54s … Ammo Dump – 3 GBU-54s [low value Admin Bldg. – 2 bombs, Long Depots (2) – 2 bombs] … STP7 Depots (3) – 2 GBU-54s each *** Targets are covered by optically aimed AAA ***
FURY1 – 4 ship Sweep – Air cover/SEAD IDM and TACAN are per SOP

MS
Took off, crossed the flot and was headed towards the target hot. Not exactly sure how far away from the target I was, when I heard a call from #3 about a contact at 75nm on the nose, low and fast.
Went A-A and started scanning, locked up the target and started talking to Cowboy, asking for cover.
THey were behind us and cold, so they turned hot.
We continued towards the target and released then went cold ourselves, regrouping on the way, with Cowboy behind us.
Went gate all the way home where we landed.
A couple of points: - we should have briefed with Cowboy about providing cover - we should have gone cold when picking up the enemy bandit, since we could have been in danger - we should use 3nm separation when doing an ILS landing - we need to double check the weapons usage, since we got damages instead of the expected 'destroys' on some of the targets

Fairly uneventful, MS with all pre-briefed targets destroyed. Good solid flying though. |
