Last week we have tried to attack the ground units in Grid 5.1. Some of our jets had technical problems, so we aborted the mission. We will renew our attack this week with jets from the 911th squadron.
The first picture shows the general situation and the flight paths.
The second picture shows the last known positions of several battalions in grid 5.1. The units haven't moved lately and we expect them to be low on supplies and exhausted.
There is no hint of any SA-11 units, so we fly with 2 AI flights.
Seosan airbase is repaired, so expect more friendly F-16 flying.
Package 25887
Fury1 and Lobo1 are a 4-ship AI flights. Mission success is given for 24 ground units destroyed by 8 pilots, PS is given for 16 ground units destroyed by 8 pilots.
Serpent1 is a 4-ship ESCORT flight. Mission success is given for no losses to Fury and Lobo, PS is given for 25% loss max.
All flights are from the 911th squadron, taking off from Chongju.
IDM will be from Serpent. Fury11 is package commander.

We took off and boresighted as planned, we were climbing when we heard from Serpent we had incoming bandits. Since we were getting close to the action we turned south.
We turned back hot after Serpent's first engagement and continued north through their 2nd engagement since we were far enough from them.
We then continued towards the target, engaged and RTBed without other incidents.
Good flight, good job for the Serpent. |

I thought I'd share this with you:
https://youtu.be/UTTzQzI4M4g
The second missile I fired didn't guide, which is my error. Watch what happens to two of the others. Is it the huge number of units in the area that meant the server struggled to keep up with all the activity!?
Really, really, wish I had some cluster bombs now - that could have been devastating! :) |

Flight Role: Escort Serpent11: "Sabre" AA=0 AG=0 RTB Serpent12: "Mango" AA=0 AG=0 EJT Serpent13: "Fisty" AA=1 AG=0 RTB Serpent14: "Echion" AA=2 AG=0 RTB
Departure as briefed 4 ship F16's in box formation, as we ran into the cAP area, a SA 10 popped up on RWR. After some minutes Mango was hit and ejected.
Sabre had problems with his radar cursor control and Fisty led the only two air engagements against the Mig 29 and the F16's.
Uneventful flight back.
Anything to add by Fisty, welcome.

We had to turn south like Fury flight and loitered at our holding point once the area was cleared.
Fury called us to attack and we've fired our missiles. The ACMI shows more hits than counted in the debrief, not sure what the reason is.
Uneventful RTB.
