Last week we destroyed a good number of enemy planes with moderate
losses to our squadrons. This allows us to resume our AI operations
close to the FLOT in grid 4.6.

The first picture shows the general situation and the flight paths.

The second picture shows the last known positions of several battalions
in grid 4.6. There are more groups to the (south)/east, but these haven't
moved lately, probably because they have been decimated already.
To the west are three single units (2x tank, 1x HQ). One of our
SpecOPS teams reported the units to be almost at full strength.

Due to the high air activity we have added two escort flights
to the package.

Package 22381

Falcon1 is a 4-ship AI flight.
Mission success is given for 50% of A2G munition hit,
PS is given for 30% hit.

Fury1 and Lobo1 are a 4-ship ESCORT flights.
Mission success is given for no losses to Falcon1,
PS is given for 50% loss max.

Fury and Lobo are from the 911th squadron, taking off from Chongju,
Falcon is from the 912th squadron, taking off from Yeonchon.

IDM will be from Fury.
Fury11 is package commander.

Timings:

Flight	Task TO PP TOT IDM VHF TACAN	FL

Lobo1	Escort	20:26	20:35	20:35 3 3 21/84	270

Flight paths and weapons are free.
The weather is sunny/fair at home plates and fair at the target.

Good Hunting

PS

On the way in, I had asked #3 to split and go to stpt 5 (2nd cap point) with the intention to CAP from opposite directions.
We did have an enemy 4ship inbound, whom Zipgun was getting ready to shoot at when Lobo1 called the commit.
I called #3 off, and our first element turned EAST to stay out of it. When I saw Lobo cold, I called #1 & #2 hot, but we didn't get to actually fire since Lobo turned hot again and was closer than us.
I asked Knight to turn cold, but I believe he became target fixated, and got shot down.

Afterwards, the picture got clear, Falcon began their attack and by the sound of it, the did a good job at it.

Unfortunately, Lobo1 was down to a 2ship and we had another enemy group coming down, so I called RTB.

On the way back, #3 had an F16 hunting him down and I had to turn back hot and take him out.
Afterwards, while we were cold, we had another 4ship coming south, and they became a factor since Zipgun was low on fuel.
I turned hot and fired my last 2 missiles, Zipgun did the same and took all of them out.

We landed last, without any incidents.

PS (30% of ordinance hit)

A rolling take-off into 2Nm trail meant a simple reform for the flight. We used our Stp2 to boresight for those that needed it, then climbed to cruise altitude (FL200) and held between our Stp3 & 4 until called in. During our last turn at PP, lead picked up a 2-ship SU-25 that turned hot and although these are only armed with heaters, they posed a threat due to their close proximity. Lead fired one slammer, which killed one and the other was shot down by friendly SAM.

Once cleared hot, we attacked in trail at 5nm, taking 2 passes each. Lead then took a third pass (2 was Dakota after 2 passes) and we were then ordered to RTB. I passed the order to the flight to rejoin at Stp 3, but a few seconds later, I heard a rifle call and assumed this was 3 as 1 and 2 were Dakota. Shortly after this, 3 informed me on TS that he'd been shot down.
1 and 2 continued to Homeplate for an uneventful straight-in approach.
Overall the mission was very enjoyable, but lesson learnt for Green is to carry out orders from Lead/Pkg Commander immediately.

upon Arriving over the FLOT I called that LOBO was comitting to a group of bandits approaching from North. After a rather long engagement we maneged to clear them out with no losses. Engaged 2 stragglers before there was a lull in the battle. Number 3 ran low on fuel and had expended all missiles and RTB'd early. 1 and 2 continued to cap until another wave of bandits came in from the north. Engaged and fired off last 4 missiles and called us off station and RTB. Uneventful RTB and landing.

11 enemy aircraft shot down, 18 missiles expended. no losses. Caotic battle that we maneged to come out on top of.

I think Escort flights should always be 4 or 2-ships since it makes it a lot easier to run a grinder tactic that ensures that you are covered when you turn cold. I did not want to leave #3 flying singleton so we had no back cover, and ended up fighting as 3 mutually supporting singletons. It worked out, but a 4-ship splitting into 2x 2-ship elements is much safer.
