Our attack on the Underground Factory wasn't successful and more a sweep with heavy losses than an A2G attack. We will target the factory again this week.
The first picture shows the general situation and the flight paths.
The second one shows the air defense picture around the factory. Although there are briefed flight plans, flight leads are free to change the ingress and egress routes of the flights for a better approach.
Package 19305
Preconditions: MS per pilot is RTB and a parked jet, PS is given for RTB w/o proper parking the jet (crash on landing ...), MF otherwise (airframe lost/destroyed for any reason).
Fury1 is a 4-ship Deep Strike flight. Mission success is given for the factory and both bunker destroyed, PS is given for the factory destroyed.
Lobo1 is a 4-ship Escort flight. MS is no losses by A2A to the Deep Strike flight, PS is given for 50% loss max.
Panther1 is a 4-ship SEAD flight. MS is given for no losses by radar SAM to the Deep Strike, PS is given for 50% loss.
Lobo and Panther are from the 911th squadron, taking off from Chongju, Fury is from the 912th squadron, taking off from Yeonchon.

We took off as planned, and after checking in on tactical we heard that we had incoming bandits, and continued north even though we were naked. That turned into a 3ship EF + 4ship Mig29s. Taking them out took longer than usual, but in the end they were down.
We called picture clear and then continued north. Until the AG strike was completed, we had no incoming bandits, but had contacts all around us, NSEW.
When the strike flight was off, we turned south since #3 (who, by this time was winchester and trying to build a picture for #1 & #2) called contacts SE of the main target area.
We did have to engage Mig29s coming from E, we did fire our last missile and took out one bandit.
Good flying from everyone, good comms.

Low level ingress from just over the FLOT saw us safely to bomb release, at which point we used a Pop-up profile to throw the bombs onto the factory, but unfortunately Fisty was tagged by an enemy F-16 just as his bombs hit home.
RTB was uneventful for our flight - a lone MiG-29 was chasing me for a while until the Patriots did their job and shortened his career. |

Not long after takeoff we picked up a bogey contact to the east flying west. We turned west then south and called the contact bullseye to Escort flight. Once air picture permitted we pushed further north and Strike flight went low and started their attack. We engaged all SA-11 in the target vicinity but we never saw the briefed SA-11 at the target site. When strike called RTB we tried to cover them as best we could. Halfway between target and flot, Awacs reported contacts to the east threatening 2nd elements left flank. First element was well ahead of second element (which was low on fuel) at this point, so told them to proceed south while 1st element engaged and downed the hostiles. This engagement meant that we were too far behind strike flight to provide rear escort when a MIG-29 was reported chasing the strike flight. otherwise the RTB was uneventful. Good package comms in general, but I was struggling, not having flown Falcon BMS for a while.
