The vote this week again has us on AI just over the FLOT in the central area.

Air Interdiction in Sector A
AI flights shall be Blue (Cowboy 1 and Black (Falcon 1). )Green (Fury 1) shall fly Escort duty. Black will fly from Choongwon, while Green and Blueshall fly from Hoengsong.

Package number is 15711.

The route is fixed for all, with all with the exception of target and CAP points for AI and Escort respectively. Timings have not been set this week and flight leads should agree these in planning.

Weapon choice is free, with the usual exceptions.

Package lead on this shall be the Escort lead.

Fig 1 - Targets

Units have faded from the last recon image (see vote page).

Mission Success
AI - A minimum average for the flight of four kills per aircraft .
Escort - No losses to AI flights from enemy air assets.

Partial Success
AI - A minimum average for the flight of two kills per aircraft .
Escort - One loss to AI flights from enemy air assets.

As the air picture is extremely good for us at present, the escort is permitted to take ground ordnance at the escort lead's discretion.

AWACs will be on station but may be out of range for info as you reach the northern most targets.

Happy flying.

Flight Role: AI
Falcon11: "Veiland" AA=0 AG=4 RTB
Falcon12: "Floyd" AA=0 AG=8 RTB
Falcon13: "Fisty" AA=0 AG=4 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

Too heavy to reach briefed A25 in time. Had to do a in place 360 to let Utopic's flight get in front as briefed.
I got all 8 mavs off in first pass, but only hit with 4 of them. Ended up at A12 and very close to the targets and had to suffer heavy flak as an result. Should have done 2-3 passes instead staying further out.
Floyd managed to score 8 kills with multiple passes.
Forgot to keep escort flight informed of progress, but otherwise good comms.
Very nice weather made for easy boresighting and targeting and target area was extremely target rich.
Good rejoin for RTB and an uneventful trip home.

Flight Role: AI
Cowboy11: "Utopic" AA=0 AG=3 KIA
Cowboy12: "Zipgun" AA=0 AG=1 RTB
Cowboy13: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=0 RTB

Mission Outcome: MF

Good flight on the way and good comms.

While going in hot, I had a first dry pass, then Zipgun and Vosene also had an initial dry pass.
On my second pass I released 2 bombs, got 3 kills but got fired upon with an sa5, from my 3'o'clock. Being damaged, and losing the hug, the left mfd and several other systems and the engine, I limped home where I cratered right in front of the runway.

Zipgun and Vosene continued until they ran out of bombs, managing a few more hits against moving targets.

In hindsight, it wasn't a very good choice to take rockeyes to attack moving targets while not breaking hard deck, OTOH we were not expecting for them to move.
