2nd February 1991, Ras Safaniya Airbase, 0015 local.

BANSHEE3 - AI 4x F-16C-40
HAMMER5 - AI 4x F-16C-40
HOG5 - AI 4x F-15E

Objective: Destroy as many vehicles as possible. Destroy Tankers at docks.

We are now day 4 of the campaign and our troops are awaiting outside of Kuwait city. In an intent to take the city back we must get rid of their supplies (tankers have been spotted around the docks) and clear the area of ground targets.
Working in an urban environment; we will have to keep the strikes precise and from high up to avoid ground fire. Weapons of choice will be GBU-12 and GBU-10 (Tankers).

SAM threat:
Plenty of SA-9s and other manpads are known to operate in the area as well as SA-8, SA-13 and AAA.

Red air is down to a minimum + F-14 BARCAP and F-18 Sweep should keep them away from us.

HOG5 will be on station working the NW box at 0124.

The weather is clear and total flight distance is 200nm.

MS is for all tankers in both boxes to be destroyed and at least 2 ground kills/aircraft with no aircraft loss to enemy SAMs.
PS for less than 2 ground kills/aircraft, no tankers and 1 aircraft loss.

Target Area:

Plan:
Ingress feet wet, attack tankers at the docks from he W/SW with GBUs. Engage ground targets within our AO. Hard deck 16.000ft.

Execution:
As fragged, BANSHEE32 had a tech with his TGP (due to bug turning TGP ON in A-A before A-G), #1 and #4 engaged the tankers, took us a few bombs to get them to sink but we managed.
Target area was quiet, with a few AAA and SA-8 spikes. We then took care of some ground moving targets and when it was time to go home, Magic called for 3 groups that I picked up and IDed as Su-20s. Not sure about any escort around, HAMMER5 was called in support. #3 called RTB. With not much fuel to spare 1 fired 2 slammers, both evaded, pressed but could not get a tone for a fox-2. #4 calling in hot 1 turned cold. #4 fired his slammers and got a bit too close from these guys.
Friendlies were on the way so HAMMER5 called Miller time, BANSHEE3 followed.
#4 called defensive, which was because of the wall of friendly slammers coming his way. He was still merged with these Su-20 and ended within WEZ of manpads, lucky for him they were asleep.
At this point separation with flight lead was 20NM+ and #4 calling bingo he was asked to climb to max alt and head for homeplate while #1 turned back in support. I spotted his contrail and rejoined.

Good landing thanks to Mango's signal fire at the end of the runway :)

Plan:Damn I forgot I had to do these as flight lead.

Uneventful ingress at FL200. At 30Nm short of target, #2 stripped to take out the single ship in the port with 2x GBU24s dropped as singles. After he sunk it, he joined #1 and #3 at the TGT STP for what was basically a turkey shoot. Too many targets and not enough bombs.

After we had our fun, we got the call from Banshee needing support with an A-A engagement but the handled it fine and with friendlies merged with the bad guys we turned for home.

Unfortunately #3, low on fuel went in a little steep and fast due to low SA on night landing and scraped his jet, having to eject after landing. But as Noodle said, it gave us all something to aim for on landing. Good mission and a nice return to the Sqn for me. Thanks all!

The 4 things a wingman is allowed to say:

1.Two
2.Lead, you're on fire.
3.I'm bingo fuel.
4.I'll take the fat one.... :/
