A short distance mission so we loaded up with 6 x AGM-65D and 4 x CBU-87 bombs (noodle to GBU 12s for the SA-9's). No tanks so fuel was a crucial factor and setting Joker at 4000lbs was important.
We boresited the Maverics on the way but 3 had a tech with his Sniper pod. Moving to the target at FL200 we found numerous targets but identifying T-62's was difficult and units were not in the expected locations. Nevertheless we set up a counter clockwise circuit to deliver the Maverics first followed by the clusters. Noodle attacked the SA-9 locations with his GBUs with good effect, but it turned out that intel had underestimated the numbers.
I fired my Mavs but according to the acmi (which is on the TS debrief flie browser) all my Mavs went for a day trip somewhere else. Not sure why as they were locked up. Others had better luck and our clusters had devastating effect as well.
Among other kills, including numerous SA-9s, we killed fourteen T-62's. Good job.
Unfortunately No3 was hit by one of the remaining SA-9s while flying a little too low. The rest RTB'd with about 1400lbs of fuel remaining. So good fuel management as well. Good job all.
