An uneventful ingress to the target. Spotted an IL-76 (soon shot down by a Hornet) and a helicopter but these were ignored. We did take a slight detour around some AAA radars and had nothing fired at us.
8 SDBs were launched at near max range at each runway. Both were destroyed. We immediately called Dakota and turned directly for home.
At one point we were warned of Mig-19s chasing us, but they were about 30nm behind us, so we just used a bit of extra gas to get inside Patriot coverage quickly.
The AAA was more interested in us on the way home, but we were above angels 28 so a little bit of heading and altitude adjustment kept us safe.
Nice and neat landing, and we watched everyone else come in to land as the sky slowly brightened as sunrise approached.

Uneventful ingress. Engaged Fan Song NW of target with HARM in PB while keeping it emitting, shack.
During egress destroyed an SA-15.
Identified a 2-ship of MiG-19 scrambling and vectored Escort to them. Lost one of the MiGs down low. Started looking for it but was already behind us. At least two of the package were very lucky not to be shot down by the leaker MiG and it even took a gunshot at Lead. Somewhat surprised AWACS didn’t call it out as a contact when picture was requested.
Uneventful landing.

Uneventful ingress, though picture was rarely clear, but groups were either no factor or furball that we monitored. Called SA-15 on ingress and set up CAP over target. By this time strike flight was already calling miller time so #3 and #4 wrapped up with them, being the closest element.
On egress things got a bit hairy, Mig-19s were scrambled from Ich'on, #1 picked up the 2ship at 30NM, 1 MiG started chasing the strike south while the other tracked north. Targets were sorted by IDM and #1 fox 3 long on the south bandit at 20NM, bandit dragged the missile. Comms were made to CAJUN5 to burn S, #3 and #4 to burn SW and #1 fox 3 again, splash. Meanwhile, #2 also fired at the same bandit and the north bandit was slotting in behind him. I relayed info to JAGUAR4 to investigate. Picture was now calling for a furball very close, so I asked #3 and #4 for delouse. While investigating, the MiG(who had now switched to JAGUAR's six) managed now to slot in #4 six. #3 spotted the extra contrail and took a fox 3 close at the bandit, splash.
We got very lucky not to lose someone to this second Mig-19, and while I thought we had good SA during the whole flight, it still managed to get behind 3 of us.
Uneventful egress, hard landing for #2, comms were made to #3 and #4 to land on R runway. |
