Balkans V4.3

BMS 4.34.4

Objective

Our ground forces need to capture Podgorica City, Plav Town, Dakovica City, Velesta City, Pec City and Volkovija Town to achieve strategic victory. With the enemy air threat currently reduced, now is the time to turn our attention towards softening up enemy forces defending these locations.

The Objectives for the next mission are the destruction of AD and other ground units around Podgorica City. Priority is AD and Mechanized Infantry units in Kill Box ALPHA.

There is a fully operational SA-3 unit South of the city that must be taken out (PPT 59) and AAA and MANPADS around the city. There are potentially 2 SA-6 units in the area of the city but this is unconfirmed.

Package 858

FALCON7 - AI - 4x F-16C-50. Destroy enemy mechanized infantry in kill box ALPHA.

SPADE6 - SEAD ESCORT - 4x F-16C-50. Protect FALCON7 from AD threats.

SATAN6 - ESCORT - 4x F-16C-50. Protect FALCON7 from Air Threats.

MS: SA-3 FCR at PPt 59 destroyed, minimum 10 AG kills from Falcon7 and maximum 1 loss to package from enemy action.

MS: Minimum 6 AG kills from Falcon7 and maximum 2 losses to package from enemy action.

Rather and uneventful flight for us. Our job was to clear the road of SA3s, an SA6 and an SA2 to allow Falcon 7 to drop their JSOWs. Gekko took care of the SA3s and SA2 with 4x SDBs, then Fisty searched for the SA6. But it either wasn't there or they weren't interested (probably saving their missiles for Noodle). Anyway, mid way through we gat an AWACs call about a hostile 2-ship hot on the AO and they were under 40 miles, so we engaged. #1 got a kill on the leader and a damaged on the wingman. Unfortunately in the confusion of war, Gekko engaged and killed a friendly Mig21. After Falcon called Miller time, we launched our 3 remaining HARMS on emitting enemy radars, killing 1 each.

The 4 things a wingman is allowed to say:

1.Two
2.Lead, you're on fire.
3.I'm bingo fuel.
4.I'll take the fat one.... :/

Uneventful ingress, held 30NM SE of target, with 20NM spacing between elements, waiting for the go from SPADE6 and monitoring the air picture, clear.
Once we got the go I spotted 3 static columns and sorted targets for the flight. We dropped our pigs and went home.
I had trapped fuel warning that I ignored, which resulted in a flameout on egress. I was able to glide the plane for a while then safely eject. Upon investigation, it was found that some duckhead had switched his ENG FEED to AFT during ramp start...

#3 took the lead and got the rest of the flight back home safely for a straight in recovery.
