In a continuation of the Kuwait Campaign you are tasked to attack enemy forces heading to attack our borders further NW of the current focus of the battle. Should they get there in numbers it will only serve to further stretch our defensive forces.

Falcon and Gamble are tasked with a route to search and destroy any and all target at or around the S&D steer points.

Enemy SAM coverage is light but be aware of possible SHORAD and MANPAD defences.

Air threats as random with MiG 21 and 29s airborne, but most flights appear to the attack aircraft in your sector. There are lots of friendly air support if needed.

MS is for all AG weapons to be deployed, ground targets are hit (not necessarily by all your weapons) and all pilots return home.

PS is for the loss of one pilot.

Falcon 1, along with Gamble1, were tasked to clear out enemy ground forces to stop their advance.

Uneventful ingress after having a bit of a hard time with streamlabs (could not get the stream up).
Falcon1 first picked up a solo mig-29 that was handed over to Gamble1 as Falcon1 focused on ground attack while Gamble1 set up a CAP north east of AO.

After 1 hot leg with a few weapons on target we decided to move to the next one (STP5) but were told to hold south of STP4 by Gamble1, picture was getting worse.

Gamble1 called for support so we proceeded north east, picking up "several" groups. We were told to focus on the mig-29s now chasing Gamble1 (with mig-21s, 23s and other 29s supporting them a few miles behind).
With some long range Tomcat support, Falcon1 was able to push bach what looked like a massive red air offensive from the north east.
As north east groups now turning cold and Gamble1 informing on UHF of other hostiles coming from the east we proceeded to support Gamble1.
This eastern group (mig-21s and 29s), which was trying to flank us at first, was now in the middle of F-14s from the south which took care of the mig-21s, and Gamble1/Falcon1 from north/north-east. The group broke off except a sneaky mig-29 that had decided to go for Reds' pipe and soon after, realised it was 2-for-1 today! Mango was unfortunately next on his shopping list. Falcon11 (now winchester) spotted the bugger and downed him with guns. I am not sure neither Mango or Reds were aware of this guy until very last moment as no delouse calls were heard.

With Falcon12 and Gamble12 down, Gamble11/Falcon13 covered Falcon11's egress after calling for support.
We then rejoined for uneventful RTB with Gamble11 who was bingo fuel.

Plan
CAP while Falcon1 engaged ground targets then A2G using Mavericks with Falcon1 providing air cover. Loadout was 4x Slammer B and 6x Mav D.

Execution

Gamble1 took-off behind Falcon1. During ingress with Falcon1 ahead they picked up a MiG-29 group and turned away to drag them across our nose. Gamble1 committed on the Singleton group and splashed it with 1x Slammer fired at 10nm with bandit medium aspect and never turning hot.

Gamble1 pushed onto CAP while Falcon1 started to engage ground targets.

Picked up a 2-ship MiG-21 group to North and committed. #1 splashed his bandit with 1x Slammer but #2’s shot only damaged the bandit. #1 recommitted and splashed the second 21.

Air picture was now getting busy with multiple groups to the North. Gamble1 committed on a Mig-29 2-ship, each firing a Slammer but both shots were defeated. During this engagement Falcon1 had reported pushing North to engage further ground targets but were advised to hold South due to air picture.

With Gamble1 now cold and at least 5 groups at their 6 o’clock they requested support from Falcon1, priority was delouse from MiG-29s. With Falcon1 and F-14s engaging Northern groups, Gamble1 pushed South for separation. Intent was to recommit but just before turning a North again #1 got 29 spikes from the East, the enemy were flanking us. Gamble1 turned West initially and dragged the bandits away from Falcon1 while Gamble11 briefed Falcon11 on the situation. It was at this point that Gamble1 jettisoned A2G stores having realized the air picture was too busy to complete the mission as fragged.

With Falcon1 now clear of engagements to the North they committed on the flanking bandit groups as Gamble1 dragged them across their nose. Gamble1 then turned to support, although Gamble11 was now SKOSH (out of Slammers).

Gamble12 tried to delouse Falcon1 but his Slammer shot was defeated and the MiG-29 then managed to shoot down Gamble12 while he was trying to abort.

Gamble11 continued South before turning back to support Falcon11 who was in a dogfight with a MiG-29. Falcon11 splashed the bandit with a great guns kills and the remaining aircraft all RTB’d as now clear of the fight.

Gamble11 joined downwind and executed a VFR landing despite it being dark due to low fuel state.

The mission was classified as a success as the package managed to stall a huge red air push from the North.

Key learning points focused on proper execution of abort against threats and the correct setup of IDM, which will now be briefed during flight planning for all missions with more than one flight in a package.
