Flight Role: Deep Strike
Cobra11: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=3 RTB
Cobra12: “Reds” AA=0 AG=8 RTB

MS

Plan

Coordinated deep-strike mission for Cobra1 and Gamble1 (3-ship). Gamble1 attacking the nuclear plant and Cobra1 the chemical plant to the South.

High-low-high profile.

20nm from target descent to low-level. 2x Mk-84AIR pair drop per aircraft. #2 3nm trail.

Execution

Departure as fragged after Gamble1. Climbed to A22 for fuel efficiency. Some optically guided AAA during long ingress. At Stp3, turned West for combat descent to low-level then at IP turned North for 8 mile run to target. #1 and #2 both hit their targets as fragged. Despite being right over AAA site, not engaged due to low-altitude and speed.

Coming off target to South West climbed back to altitude and #1 did an orbit for #2 rejoin. During egress, only remaining member of Gamble flight, Gamble11, joined flight as Cobra13. Long RTB at optimum fuel efficiency altitude of Angled 32, initially in trail then Echelon left. By the numbers Overhead break onto 16R and successful landings.

ACMI and some pictures of the targets on fire and Gamble 13 in the chute are in the TS debrief file browser.

During the flight the use of the DED data HUD repeater switch to display DED information in the HUD was discussed. This switch is to the right of the stick, just below the hard point power switches. This is recommended for displaying A2A TCN distances in the bottom right of the HUD to keep distances as a wingman.

The image below shows A2G TCN of 92X but demonstrates where the TCN information is displayed
