The 77th squadron remain at San Pancrazio AB. Tower control is only available on VHF, frequency 128.40. Nearby Casale (UHF 386.875) can be used for landing in an emergency.
We suffered serious losses on the last sortie and lessons were learned.
Your next mission is two fold. The main focus is to take out an active airbase at Dolac while clearing SAMs, particularly on the coast. This SAM clearance will help for future packages.
The runway at Dolac is 01/19. Due to the mountainous area to the south, Elvis 2's route will take them around to the north of the airbase for an attack on the runway 19 as well as the hangar and warehouse.

Intel's info has been proven correct. We now know that apart from SA-2 and 3 emplacements, numerous SA-6 and at least one battalion of SA-11 is in the theatre. To that end we shall have six SEAD escort aircraft this evening.
Air threats continue to be lower grade but the numbers are higher. The exception are the SU-33s we encountered last time out. Keep a wary eye open for them.
Fig 2 - Combined Routes of Package 23984.
Falcon 3 and Gauntlet 4 of the 22nd squadron, shall take off from Casale AB while Elvis 2 and Hunter 4 of the 77th squadron take off from San Pancrazio AB.
Package 23984 Elvis 2 is a four ship OCA strike flight. MS is for three hits on the runway at the points indicated, and also destruction of the hangar and the warehouse. PS will be given for the three runway hits and destruction of the hangar.
Gauntlet 4 is the four ship escort and Package Commander, tasked to protect the OCA flight. IDA will be from this flight. MS no AA losses to the interdiction flight, PS one loss to the interdiction flight.
Falcon 3 and Hunter 5 respectively are the four and two ship SEAD flights. MS is no radar SAM or radar AAA losses to the package, PS is a maximum of one similar loss.
Timings TO for Elvis 2 is 15:40hrs with PP at 15:58 at FL250. TOT is 16:11 at low level. IDM 1, VHF 1, tacan 11/74. TO for Falcon 3 is 15:37hrs with PP at 15:51 at FL280. IDM 2, VHF 2, tacan 16/79. TO for Gauntlet 4 is 15:39hrs with PP at 15:53 at FL270. IDM 3, VHF 3, tacan 21/84 TO for Hunter 5 is 15:38hrs with PP at 15:55 at FL290. IDM 4, VHF 4, tacan 26/89
Please pay attention to your designated altitudes at the push point
Flight path is fixed for mutual support.
The weather is poor at home plates and fair at the target as the weather system moves SE with more storms coming in from the north. Choose your weapons accordingly.
Good Hunting

After taking off we saw that the other flights in the package were engaging enemy threats, so, when I got nails 29 I called the flight cold until the enemy got shut down.
On the way in there were no issues from my point of view, and then the server crashed.
After re-commiting, in 3D, the strike flight was RTB, with 1&2 being cold. I'm not sure where 3&4 where in the beginning. After we turned hot and regrouped, we went in, hit the targets then called OUT and RTBed.
There were some issues with the landing due to the messed up frequency and trees being right at the end of the runway. As a consequence, I struck the ground too hard and had a couple of faults, Poppy had a tail strike due to weird flight behavior, we're not sure about the cause.
Good mission except for the many many tech issues. |

Take off was delayed five minutes due to Falcon 3 not taxiing quickly enough, despite having an extra two minutes to get set up! VERY frustrating.
We were airborne at 15:43 (Rolex +5) and as a result we were not available soon enough to provide the protection we were tasked to do as SU-33's came in to hamper Hunter 5 and Elvis 2 who were on their way already.
Happily the enemy was destroyed by Hunter and AI aircraft before we could engage and before we lost anyone.
Soon after that we lost Zohrs to a tech, probably his high ping.
We proceeded to the hold point and let Falcon and Hunter move on to engage SAM's.
Once cleared in, we approached the target steerpoint. I locked up a Galeb at the target airbase and as soon as I fired the server froze. In future I shall not be hosting IDM as I suspect that may have been a big part of the problem.
On the re-start we set up a racetrack patrol west of the target while the strike flight did their thing and called off target. I called Miller Time and the SEAD led the strike out of the area while we played tail-end-Charlie. We spotted enemy MiG-21's coming from the south, confirmed as enemy by AWACs. I killed the enemy with a AIM120C.
Further towards the coast we had new MiG-21's to the north but these were friendly.
We turned for home and lost Homer to a tech about 40 miles out.
Lessons learned; - Don't host IDM if you have a crap bandwidth
- Practice setting up your on ground protocols and taxi quickly

Flight Role: SEAD
Hunter51: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=3 RTB Hunter52: "Fisty" AA=1 AG=0 RTB
Plan: Support 3-ship SEAD Flight Falcon3. Engage targets of opportunity as required to accomplish Package mission. Once Dakota switch A2A role and support Gaunlet4 (Escort) as required.
Execution: Falcon3 were delayed taking off from a different airfield to Hunter5, which also delayed Gauntlet 5 getting airborne. As a result Hunter 5 were lead flight going feet wet and encountered a 2-ship Su-33 hostile group. No 2 managed to kill one of the bandits but Hunter5 were forced defensive and requested a delouse from Gauntlet 5. No 2 was forced to jettison A2G stores with an Su-33 on his tail but survived until an AI F/A-18 splashed the bandit. Unfortunately Hunter 52 was now Dakota and almost Joker so he was ordered to RTB.
Hunter 51 then jointed as the No 4 ship in Falcon3, successfully engaging 2x SA-3, one right of track on ingress and one directly over the target area. After that the server crashed.
After server reset we rejoined, including Hunter 52. Hunter 51 successfully engaged a further SA-3 over the target but missed with a shot on an SA-11 to the NE. Hunter 52 missed with both shots onto SA-11 to the NE.
After capping for several minutes Miller time was called as we RTB'd, taking point.
Landing at Homeplate was an issue due to a tree covering the end of the runway.
