Ingress as fragged, target acquisition was difficult. Moving targets for me and I didn't hit the target. Set up CAP and sent markpoints to my flight. Zipgun and Tank then attacked the targets. We had more playtime than expected: briefed was 1 pass haul a**. But we (mostly) stuck to harddeck, and got 1 kill. On egress we encountered a four ship Su-25 which looked like going for our airbase, so we went gate and and chased them. 1 got away and we disengaged due to fuel emergency. Cowboy was courteous enough to grant us priority on the landing (thanks) and RTB'd safe.

Rolling take-off on IFR due to poor visibility, with rejoin at Stp 2 at 12'000. Ingressed as fragged in loose spread and waited for Fury 1 to call Dakota. During our anchor north of Stp 4, we picked up a SU27 2*ship hot from the northeast and called it in, but they got too close (under 35 nm, so we engaged with 1 and 2 sprinting to contact, with 3 supporting. 1 and 2 fired with 120Bs at around 22 nm and cranked. Review of the ACMI shows both missiles hit, with 1's target destroyed and 2's damaged, only to be finished off by a friendly SA-17. Fury then called Dakota so we turned hot in trail with 5 nm separation. It certainly was a target rich environment and rather fortuitously, 1 located a nice juicy armoured column in N/S formation, moving east to west, so got all 6 bombs off in one pass along the length of the column, scoring 6 hits with 5 vehicles destroyed and 3 damaged. 3 went in next and although he made lots of smoke on the ground, he only slightly worried the advancing commie tankies, scoring only glancing blows (ACMI reviewed). 2 took a couple of passes and after eventually locating the targets, dropped his load, scoring 3 kills and (rather unfortunately) 8 damaged! Meaning we were a gnat's arse from a PS result! Had the damaged vehicles counted, we could've claimed a MS result, but the fortunes of war weren't smiling on Green Flight that day. A relatively uneventful egress in loose spread again brought us home, but just before our descent to Homeplate, Fury called out a contact of 4*ship SU25/27s to the South and broke away to engage, so we maintained altitude in case they needed support. With the threat dispatched, Fury took the lead to land and we carried out a combat descent to 5'000, south of Homeplate, with Mango (low-fuel concern) leading us in. Mango carried out a straight in approach, escorted by 1 and 3, who then executed an overhead pass for a safe landing in stormy weather. All down safe.
