Flight Role: Escort
Callsign11: "sabre" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Callsign12: "Scruffy" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Callsign13: "Sharpe" AA=5 AG=0 RTB

Mission successs.

Tangled with the AI on the taxi way again, got airborne, Scruffy reported a technical mishap and was sent home together with the AI.

Sharpe and I pushed forward as fragged.

During briefing we had observed a steady stream of enemy air traffic to the south of our flight plan.

As we approached our patrol area we turned south to engage contacts.

Sharpe was outstanding as his results show 5 AA kills, absolutely brilliant. cleared my six, stayed focussed, excellent flying skills.

Eventually we turned North out of the melee due to limited weapons. Sharpe was low on fuel and was sent home, Sabre formed up with Black flight before RTB.

Key learning point.
We must think like the Tuskagee airman, our job was to protect the strike flight, we didn't do it, neither did the other sweep flight. In this campaign, never leave the strike flight without close support.

We all swooped down on the enemy to the south who were already being engaged by friendlies.
