Flight Role: (STRIKE)
Panther11: "Joif" AA=0 AG=4 RTB
Panther12: "Ghostrider" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Panther13: "Mango" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Panther14: "Homer" AA=0 AG=1 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

Details:

Our pre-briefed plan was to allow the SEAD and Escort to clear our route of air and ground defences, if both SA-2 were destroyed we'd give the enemy hell with volleys of mavs, back up plan was if the SA-2 were not destroyed Panther11 was carrying JSOW's that could be used in stand off range if required.

Followed our flight plan cruising at A20, shortly after SEAD flight magnum SA-2 we were picking up Mig 29 spikes off our 11, we turned off flight plan and got separation to give the escort flight room to engage the contacts without worrying about B-on-B incidents. After these contacts were splashed we proceeded to target where we had another instance this time Mig 21's we turned cold as above, The other flights did a great job as keeping us safe spikes never materialised into hard locks so we were always out of danger.

Eventually awacs confirmed picture clear and all air defences had been destroyed, our flight went heads down and located the scud group which was mobile and confirmed it was the correct group via the TGP pod. 1 and 4 managed to make several passes engaging the group with JSOW's and Mav's but 2,3 were having some issues locating the targets (my fault as when I initially locked them up I called their bullseye position but had forgotten to send data).

3 Scuds were successfully destroyed and a few other units, I made a small error in my loadout taking AGM-154C which are used for hardened targets instead of the cluster variants A/B hence only 1 kill for each launch :(

A good mission and I'm happy with our flight, responded well when turning away from contacts and didn't get separated.. and for bully's special prize everyone made it home!

fyi Homer, I checked the acmi of your mavs and most of the shots had too much work to do for the lazy mavs in BMS so make sure you do most of the aiming for them :)
