Flight Role: (SEAD, ESCORT, STRIKE, Etc..) Cobra81: "Vaughan" AA=0 AG=1 KIA Cobra82: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=8 RTB Cobra83: "Floyd" AA=0 AG=8 RTB Cobra84: "Elmo" AA=0 AG=8 RTB
Mission Outcome: MS
Took off, climbed to A25. 1 & 2 chased a couple of blue F16s that were egressing south at low level. Circled to allow the escort to catch up.
1 & 2 went heads down and fired mavericks, 2 firing all eight and 1 firing seven. I cleared 3 & 4 in hot and went A-A to provide some air cover if needed. After 3 & 4 were off target, I turned back hot intending to find a target for my last maverick. Was so intent on the maverick picture in my MFD that I crashed.
2, 3 & 4 RTB'd safely.
No debrief, but I do have an ACMI that disagrees with the official BMS figures if anyone's interested. Also, the 1st Cavalry battalion had 31 units when we took off and was reduced to 4 after we had landed (27 kills). |

Vaughan, I was surprised by the results, particularly yours as I saw at least three plumes of smoke coming from your targets. Can you send me the acmi and I'll amend the scores. I had us killing 25 targets but the maths say you must have destroyed three.

Flight Role:ESCORT Cowboy91: "Crowebar" AA=0 AG=0 RTB Cowboy92: "Wolfman" AA=0 AG=0 RTB Cowboy93: "Blade" AA=1 AG=0 RTB Cowboy94: "Vosene" AA=0 AG=0 RTB
Mission Outcome: MS
The hardest part of this mission was wrestling with our own aircraft systems within our cockpits to try and keep the ecort flight rolling. Many technical issues caused what could be described generally as a bad day at the office!
However we managed to link up with strike flight and reach the target area, which had been swept clean by 'Avenger' flight from another squad prior to our arrival. We were engaged by a single F16 who's missiles were trashed, and who was splashed for his efforts by #3 and #4. #1 had a game freeze and when rejoined the cockpit was all over the place and FCR not responding so #3 led the flight back to the alternate with no further events.
