Took off and whilst climbing were asked to engage Mig29s to West of flight plan, after engaging and cranking started heading towards a 4 ship of SU-20s so took them out, while cranking from those had a 2 ship of Mig25s, whilst cold on those another 2 ship of Mig25 appeared who we also engaged. Eventually after these first few engagements managed to turn back towards target area where there were another couple of Migs which I think were being engaged by Fury1. We then headed to target where there were a group of Mig29s who we got 2 slammers off on before turning cold and capping in the SA2 circle which was still being shown as active however never fired a missile and then finally returned home with all aircraft intact.

Once again no debrief.txt for me
After take off we engaged a group of SU-20's that were headed in the direction of the strike flight. 3 of these were quickly splashed but had to pursue a runner still headed for the strike flight costing valuable fuel for myself and Sabre but once in range was engaged easily.
After this engagement the escort flight had dealt with the Mig 29 threat inbound from the West, we then proceeded to engage the first SA-2, I engaged this with a AGM-88 which destroyed the fan song with no issues despite being placed in a static search radar building, after the missile hit the actual search radar it was placed in was still active so I overflew the area just to confirm the SA-2 was no longer a threat before I was happy for the strike flight to move up.
We then proceeded to the next SA-2 site, we then had Mig25 contacts heading in from the west and also a Mig 25 capping over the second SA-2 site. The escort flight dealt with the west Mig25's. Mango got in range and fired his first Harm at the second SA-2 and turned cold on the MiG25 well out of its range we then awaited the escort flight.
Also after the initial skirmish with the SU-20's and Sabre was also carrying MK84's instead of tanks as a backup if the Harm strike had been ineffective on the first SA-2 site he was at this point starting to run low on fuel and RTB'd with the intention of a hotpit refuel.
Once the MiG 25 had been destroyed we continued to engage the SA-2 site again.. the second harm was launched at the SA-2 at this point I was in the SA-2 envelope with the intention of keeping the radar emitting hoping for a higher chance of success with the HARM but this missile also looks to have missed, shortly afterwards I was hit.
My own personal downfall was getting too complacent with the SA-2.. I had dodged around 6 launches prior but put little effort into avoiding the final missile whilst trying to co-ordinate with 3, from what Mango tells me that the SA-2 never launched after this so I presume it had fired all its missiles which I didn't know was implemented.
I think I'll blame karma for our issues, we got lucky that the first SA-2 was destroyed so easily, but were very unlucky to have had 2 harms that had missed on the second SA-2.
I have alot of personal lessons learnt in regards to leading the flight and apologies for any missed comms calls. Overall congrats to the strike flight they still managed to get the job done given the difficult circumstances, and thanks to Vosene for an excellent job as AWACS making sure the necessary flights were kept out of harms way and provided an excellent picture for both air and ground threats. I found there was alot of broadcast chatter which sometimes made in flight co-ordination difficult but once we switched over to UHF 13 it was alot more manageable.. I can also confirm that after getting shot down I was still able to hear the inflight broadcast comms with no issues so UHF #13 is the way to go in future.
If anyone has anything to add, feel free to speak up.

Just a few additions, flew the mission again this morning, the AI pilot also took out the the first SA2 radar with one harm so I think that unlike ordinary buildings the domed radar buildings are destructible with Harms. Also took out the other two SA2s with one harm each, so I really dont know what happened last night with the two Harms I missed on the second SA2 which resulted in Joif losing his aircraft, obviously it was my bad and not anything related to BMS.Got the strike flight debrief txt if needed, but not the sead escorts for some reason. |

Don't worry about it Mango, there's not alot you can do wrong with harms probably the easiest weapon to employ when used with the HAD it was just bad luck. Only an acmi will be able confirm where they disappeared to.

A good well balanced mission with enough going on to keep us on our toes thanks Wolfman. Shortly after takeoff we altered course to the East to avoid the gathering bandits to the West. But within minutes we picked up a 4 ship Mig29S approaching from the East and turned back West. Magic directed us to support Fury who were engaged with SU-20's, which we did, getting a volley off each before turning away to run South. Held to the South until Fury and Falcon had cleared the skies and proceeded North when directed by Magic.
We held outside SA-2 engagement zone while Fury attempted to neutralize it, and when this didnt happen we were cleared hot on target. So as SA-2 was still active we dropped down to A1 for our attack run. Almost immediately we were alerted to Mig-29S flight in close proximity and climbed to engage, while within SA2 zone. #1 got 1 slammer away, which missed before going defensive SA-2, #3 got a couple of slammers away, managing to damage one of the Migs. Dmans1 was also able to find a window of opportunity to fire his Mavericks at the bridge and destroy it, with everything else going on at the time with the SA2 and Migs. So well done Dmans1.
Uneventfull RTB for a battle break and landing at Homeplate.
