MF

Mission Plan: Sweep the area on ingress and establish TARCAP 13 Miles south of Koksan.
Execution: As fragged on ingress, kept busy engaging aircraft coming from the east. Reported bandits over target area, strike decided to push due to time limits, got downed by Fox3's, flights RTB'ed.
Engagements-Shots Made: 2ship Mig29A east of flight plan. 2 kills.
4 ship Mig29A leading the first 2 ship. Engaged by 2nd element and SEAD, 2 kills.
2 ship Mig29A from the East, 1 kill.Remainder was dropped.
4Ship Mig29A and 4 Ship Mig29S near target area. 3 Kills. An124 downed as a Collateral Damage, remainders were dropped due to RTB.
Monitored 4 Ship Mig21F engagement on egress, 1 kill on the remainder aircraft.

Lessons Learned: Got a but fixated on the 1st engagement and did not catch early the trailing Mig29's. The other guys did an excellent job on them, despite the late notice.
On hindsight, we should have, given the SAM picture, allocate one SEAD flight in a pure A/A role.

Overall it was a nice mission. Though officially it was a MF for us, i'm very happy with my flight's outcome. We did everything we could possibly do, due to the short numbers and the very strict TOT.

MF

Plan, Push target at MAX/Mil speed to engage 2 runways before 0530.
Secondary, destroy 2 warehouses. Return to alternate airbase due to lack of external tanks.

Due to problems at my end setting up IVC coms (sorry) we were 3~4 Min's late on T/off. Ignored stp2 and pushed 3.

Good SA due to coms from lead flights and data-link with BMS.(Due to Data-link could see position of Escort flight lead. And with radar 2, 3, 4 in formation........Nice.

However "I" need to listen when package leads are calling.......Sorry.

We pushed target throughout, skirting around threats without the need to hold for A2A engagements. (Except when Tiag told me to pull right 5 miles)
At this point we were still -10 Min's TOT.

Cowboy descended low level to press target. We were now ahead of SEAD and Escort.

Around 7 miles from target Cowboy were engaged by active shooters and within 1 minuet of each other 1 & 3 were both shot down.

Lessons learned......Halfway through the flight it was evident we were not going to make TOT (our TOT= -10mins)
We should have either held back to allow Escort and SEAD to clear the path and Cowboy to hit targets late of TOT or RTB'd.
In hindsight I should have chosen to delay the strike. = SAME OLD STORY......of pushing target and disregarding the risks!

Nice mission, just sorry we did not get to target.
