Command have been very concerned to note that recent training nights on Wednesdays have been not very well supported in general. We are blessed with some very experienced and able pilots in our squadron who are prepared to give up their valuable time to prepare training material, unless we can work out a way to give them better support on a consistent basis, this option is not likely to be made available in future. Basically it boils down to use it or lose it.
Command takes the view that some form of organised training is vital for the future prosperity of our squadron in order to improve the collective skill level, and to retain the interest and motivation for those who wish to improve their skills beyond the rudementary standard required by the assessment flight.
Command wishes to canvass the opinion of the whole membership with regard to the issue of training so that we can best formulate a successful strategy going forward. Command respectfully requests that every member of the 185th take a moment to respond to this thread. The information we need is:-
1 Are you intersted in organised training sessions during the week designed to improve your skill level/knowledge of Falcon4? If you have no time or no interest, it is ok, but we would still like to know so we can plan for realistic numbers.
2 What format to use? 1 on 1, group sessions or any other format that you think works well or what do you enjoy doing. We are open to suggestions.
3 please take a moment to respond to the 2 training polls if you have not already done so.

| Likewise, I am unable to commit. Its difficult at best, as I'm usually busy throughout the week. |

I committed to the A2G training, but I think I cant attend all wednesdays lessons, and a group is better as we can practice it all together just like the official night, and I suggest the training starts at 1900 uk time.
regards SB

My availability is after 21:00hrs UK time on most Wednesdays - I'm happy to be involved in whatever training is planned for that time, if there is ever going to be.

I'm all for the training sessions, but I'm unable to commit on a regular basis during the week due to shift work.
I'll continue to turn up on Wednesdays when shifts allow.
P.S. Ive been away for a while has any decision been made yet regarding training, ie day, time, format?

I enjoyed the ACM training that Vosene did a while back and learnt from it. I have put myself down for the A2G training to see what else is new, and if it's anything like the ACM it can only be good.
I appreciate that the timing cannot be right for everyone and if there is a better time to do this training then so be it. I certainly recommend it. If I and others like me, who have been flying this sim for some years, can find NEW stuff to learn there must be an encyclopias worth of flying info for the newer (v)pilots and they should get involved.

I have made my contribution in the poll in the beginning. But, As I live in sweden, the one hour difference have for me a quite big impact. I would like an early night start. Also, thursdays would suit better. (i tired friday I can live with)

I'm keen to take part in training sessions, and Wednesday is as good a night as any for me.
However I'd like to make one or two points about training sessions, if I may.
I would far prefer to do most of the background reading offline in my own time, rather than sit for an hour or more whilst we go through it all online. I believe the training session would be more useful if the theory was summarised in less than half an hour, and the majority of the time was spent in the cockpit, in practical application of the subject matter.
Perhaps a question and answer session prior to takeoff may be what is needed. By that I don't mean a verbal exam, I mean an opportunity to ask questions on the bits of theory that aren't clear.
Also It is better for me if these sessions don't go on beyond about 10pm in the week.
