After nearly two hours standing outside their premises this morning I have managed to confirm the booking of 4 pitches for the 185th from Kempsford Camping.

The 185th 10th Anniversary meet is therefore confirmed as RIAT 2009 from 17-19 July 2009.

As already outlined, the plan is to meet on the Friday at the campsite next door to the airfield and have a few beers and a meal. For those arriving early enough there is usually a chance to watch the final rehearsals and aircraft arrivals. We'll attend the airshow on the Saturday (18 July) then have a BBQ with a few more beers in the evening before departing around 1400 on the Sunday once the exit opens (you can watch the flying display from the camp site in the morning or just nurse your hangover).

Cost for airshow tickets is £34.95 plus a £3 admin charge. Please book these yourself from the following link but make sure you get Saturday tickets (18 July): http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/Airshow_Tickets

If anyone is coming from overseas and is unable to get a ticket online then e-mail me and we'll try to work something out.

Cost for camping is £26 each for both the Friday and Saturday night plus a share of the £80 pitch fee. Last time we also chipped in to buy some food and drink but we can confirm this closer to the time. Please do not contact Kempsford Camping direct. I will allocate spaces on the pitches based on a first come, first served basis and agree the payment method on an individual basis.

We now have until the end of May to fill our pitches otherwise we'll be asked to give some of them up to reflect the numbers actually going.

Confirmed so far are and the ones I have paid upfront for to secure the pitches are:

Myself
Griffin
Crowebar
Ghostrider
Reds

If you definitely intend to go then please sign up below and provide the following details:

1. When you intend to arrive.

2. If you intend to bring a car (and if you are already giving a lift to other members of the 185th).

3. If you need transport and where from.

4. If you are bringing a tent and how many spaces you have for other members of the 185th to share it with.

5. If you can bring any other stuff such as a tables, chairs, gas BBQ, gazebo etc.

So come on guys, sign up below and lets make this a meet to remember.

Reds is now taking orders for flagons of the rough stuff!

Ive placed an order for mine
I think I'll save it for the Saturday night when I don't have to get up early to watch "those magnificent men in their flying machines"

I remember one or two displays form Fairford 2007

Gentlemen

Videos are nice, but definetely wrong placed here like some other stuff IMO. Isn't it better to keep this thread only for informations concerning everybody who attends RIAT 2009? It helps keeping the overview and not missing the most important.

I suggest posting here any informations that helps everybody preparing for RIAT 2009 and keep it clean from private things and stuff. What do you guys think?

Novac, you just lost your money.:-) I don“t need any paper...the video was made in France! I live in Germany, here we just look and the bottles open themselves.

Novac Posted - 18 Apr 2009 : 21:21:26
Or a piece of paper. Don't forget that one!

Tiag, I will give you £5 if you can open a bottle of beer with "only" a sheet of A4!
Tiag gets first shot then free to anyone.(One successful applicant only) Times are hard guys, times are hard!

Time to practice mate.

tiag Posted - 18 Apr 2009 : 18:32:17

From the physics point of view, it is actually possible.
But I will talk to Saint Peter and I trade all other weekends of July with him.

Got my ticket today

Just a couple of points. Under 16's get in free with the adult ticket. Which I think is good value

And also, be aware you cant buy tickets at the gate. So book early.
Last year Saturday was sold out. Pity it was rained off.

But lightning cant strike twice .....Can it......

My ticket arrived today and is pinned up awaiting the day. Looking forward to it and meeting you guys again, and the 'noobs' too.

Ghostrider Posted - 14 Apr 2009 : 17:16:13
If raining or not, most important coming over to your island and c all of you again and having 'some' beers!

But also fingers crossed for the weather.

Will try to have just one hand bag (you know, just for one SHIRT), so I hope won“t take too much time at the airport. Unless I have to take a tent with me. Lets see...

I was checking the airplanes this year.....amazing. I never saw a F-18 and Rafale in my life. I read in some forums that the RIAT this year will be "special" according to the RAF due to the bad weather last year.
