For whatever reason the Escort flights seemed to have been pretty much unchallenged, I have checked the mission again and a flight of SU-27's and MiG29S should have arrived at our target way before the MiG23's that you engaged, timings and steer point info is correct so I'm not sure why they didn't become a factor. Other flights seemed to be following different routes aswell..

It has happened to me when i was testing a mission that had all the bandits taking off the same airport. The sweep flight kept arriving very late even thought it was supposed to be the 1st to arrive in the battle zone. Problem was solved when i moved their to another airfield.

Posted - 10 Apr 2012 : 13:55:25 Don't worry Griffin, I'm pretty sure my IVC is working on all installs. (famous last words)
I'll be online a little early on Sunday.

Posted - 10 Apr 2012 : 13:29:38 I know we are still in the testing stage before making the official move to the updates but my preference would be to move asap, just makes life a lot easier without having extra installs to play around with and two logbooks.

Posted - 10 Apr 2012 : 13:08:49 Griffin, I will be online at 20:00 if able. Haven't put name against ATO as may be working late. But 95% that I will join you. Also patched to V2

Posted - 10 Apr 2012 : 12:43:15 Novac,
I'll try and get on after 1900 if that's ok.
PS I am now updated to patch 2 on my second install.

Posted - 10 Apr 2012 : 11:16:24 And now the new update adds to the mix haha.
Sorry Griffin, I see that you have a test flight in the ATO already. Cant make 2000hrs.

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 23:57:55 After all the talk, etc, I think we should just patch up to the update. IF AMVI is flying with it then it should work for us. Or if they have some other things they do we might follow their SOP. This should stop the switch problems. Just my take on the matter.

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 20:30:19 Griffin,
If you want a quick test. I was thinking of switching from one version to another, testing IVC on both. Just getting in the jet only, no flying, just pure testing of setups/IVC. Then I can make it. Between 1800~1900 for me.
We do need to get this sorted. Everyone needs to be signing from the same hymn sheet. Without the added problem of duel installs we still have some pilots that can't use IVC with the default install.

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 20:12:33 I too simply copied my original install folder, renamed it then patched the original. Running the patched version with the Israeli theatre was no problem.
I did note when trying to do things in the unpatched versions launcher that the same patched version started. Unfortunately it wasn't until last night that I discovered that IVC wouldn't work, with the same error message coming up as mentioned earlier.
I have now pointed my unpatched shortcut to F:Program Files\Falcon BMS4.32 unpatched\Bin\x86\Falcon BMS.exe. I have also created a shortcut for the IVC client which is in the same folder, with a note to start it before I start Falcon if I'm using BMS.
I quickly sorted that out before we started last night and IVC worked. I want to test it again before next Sunday, preferably tomorrow if anyone is available and wants to test their set up?

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 19:02:46 I also use the folder renaming method and have no issues with BMS or previous versions of AF in the past. Except I did get the "capture device error" with IVC last Thursday. But if I just launched BMS and did not pre-launch IVC all was fine. Previous post First MP mission with updated BMS
Yes, you have to rename each folder each time you want to fly a different version but it only takes a few seconds.
The missing debrief txts are another matter. Or as Joif said "when it decides to work"

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 16:03:38 I guess that would work much better thanks Floyd, if you are renaming the folder each time you want a different version that should resolve all the issues I have listed, think I'll give that a try instead of just launching from the respective folders.

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 15:53:09 Joif, that is strange. All i did was to make a copy of my unpatched BMS install and patched the original installation. Now all i have to do is to rename the two folders to what i want to fly. The paths and registry keys stay the same and no problem with ivc.
What should not be done is to install the patched version to a different directory and then run from there; my pathname to the exe is: "D:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Bin\x86\Falcon BMS.exe" |

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 15:37:23 Just a small note regarding the debriefs, it appears that certain activities must be written in the registry which causes some issues i.e.
The launcher always loads the patched version of the game. IVC when launched by the game on connecting to the server loads IVC 1.01 and not 1.00 causing capture device errors It also writes Debrief.txt in your original patched install location (when it wants to work) regardless of what version your usuing. I have noticed that any custom TE's must be placed in the original patched folder for them to be detected by my unpatched version..
Good times.

Posted - 09 Apr 2012 : 15:12:07 Flight Role: Interdiction
Serpent11: Novac AA=0 AG=10 RTB Serpent12: Elmo AA=0 AG=8 EJT Serpent13: Griffin AA=0 AG=2 RTB Serpent14: Floyd AA=0 AG=12 RTB
Mission Outcome: Success
No debrief txt.
Took off and climbed to A25 in burner we were around 15 miles in trail of Panther flight. SA2's were still active at this point so we skirted around the threats and to allow us to align with the bridge in a east west direction.
The plan was to have 5 miles separation between aircraft, have a run at the target then peel off south, then head to the east to setup for another run-in.
Staying at medium level the convoy was picked up nicely with GMT. Unfortunately I only dropped a pair of CBU's on the column when I had the perfect opportunity to drop a larger string. And as I understand it, this is what most of the flight did. In hindsight this took way too long for most of us. Only #4 got his bombs off quickly. While we were doing numerous bomb runs I expected to be attacked by enemy aircraft and asked AWACS (Lumper) to keep us informed. Thank God they never came!
Unfortunately #4 was hit by flack on his final pass and had to eject. #2 was also hit at some point but managed to land his smoking jet
A nice mission but a little disappointed at my own performance regarding the time it took to get the weapons off!
Regarding a comment Joif made about the convoys still moving across the destroyed bridge.. I did a little practice mission before the flight and noticed that the column seemed to ignore the bridge even when it was intact. They preferred to use the river to cross Perhaps they new it was going to be hit!
