News from Green Mambas: Unfortunately, Huntsman of Green Mambas has decided to leave the 185th Reservoir Dogs. I remember him as my first flight lead when I joined this squadron and he's still one of the best flight lead's I have flown with.

All the best for the future Huntsman and from all of the 185th Reservoir Dogs, thanks for all the great work you have done in the past to make this one of the premier virtual squadrons!

Regards,

Wolverine, et al.

News from Grey Ghosts: In the words of Grey Ghosts pilot, Montana:
"I have taken the decision to leave 185th. First of all I have to say that 185th has a lot of great pilot's and really good guy's (never meet Muffin or Phantom). I most also say that I have learned so much in this short time with you.

The reason I will leave is that I have a hard time to find someone to fly with, because of my job with changing hour's and most guy's is flying in the evenings, and I know this is a thing you can't change by talking because you have time when you have time.

What I will do is to try to find a squad that has pilot's from all over the world, so I can pick up a flight any time of day.

I don't hope this will make a end to this new friendship we have started over the last couple of months between the two of us (even we haven't been flying for some time). Hope we still can meet for a chat or a flight in the good old Viper.

Best regards

Montana ;-)"

Please join me in wishing Montana the best for the future. Don't be a stranger.

Regards,

Wolfy.

News from the 185th: The 185th kill board, i.e. the spread sheet with the number of successful A-G missions and confirmed A-A kills against human opposition, has finally been found thus giving me the opportunity to update the rather out of date combat ribbon status on the roster. It is now up to date and the following ribbons has been awarded:

Air Achievement Medal has been awarded to: MadMax and Orca

Air Achievement Medal with 1 star has been awarded to: Bunch, Dragon, Huntsman and Shodan

Air Achievement Medal with 2 stars has been awarded to: Jester

Air Achievement Medal with 3 stars has been awarded to: BigBrother

Air Achievement Medal with 4 stars has been awarded to: Saint and Triton

Joint Services Commendation with 1 star has been awarded to: Triton

Joint Services Commendation with 3 stars has been awarded to: Saint

First Blood Ribbon has been awarded to: Black Cat, Devil, Orca, Raptor, Spooky, Triton and Wolverine

First Blood Ribbon with 1 star has been awarded to: Ballistic, Bunch, MadMax, Rabies, Saint and Skylark

Jeeez, look at all the stars on Saint's chest. Thank god I still outrank him ;).

Note! I have changed the definition for adding stars, oak leafs to combat ribbons. Have a look at the Rank System and Awards page to see the new definitions.

News from Blue Eagles: Due to not having the time JIG has decided to leave the 185th VFS.

News from Grey Ghosts: An unforeseen event has forced DragonFire leave the 185th after recently rejoining.

Please update your address books and ICQ list accordingly. I have been busy sorting myself out in the new role as XO of this great squad and therefore the web site has been lower on my priority. The latest TE's from the 185th will be added shortly and I'm thinking about remaking all word documents into pdf-files to save space and also make SOP's and training material printable in a better way.

Due to mission debriefs not showing correct results and some pilots reporting major problems to even complete last weeks mission (14/04/01) that mission will be scratched from the SHL. That's it for now.

Regards,

Wolverine.

All of Winder's TE's in the 185th TE archive except "Crossroad Crunch" has been updated as a result of some helpful input given by Froglips from a design perspective, to make them better suited for online play. Just overwrite your old copies to update to the current versions. There is also a more in depth briefing for the Tankbuster mission.

A couple of new missions has been added to the 404th TE archive.

The TE Rota has been bumped one week due to the fact I forgot to include Winder for the mission on the 28th of April, sorry about that mate. So, all TE builders from the 28th of April till the 2nd of June has been moved one week forward relative to the original Rota. Sorry for any inconvenience. The TE Rota is now up for June and July, have a look to see when you're scheduled to make a TE.

This is Wolverine signing off...

Last night I CTD:ed for the last time in this so called simulator. I mean, how are you supposed to enjoy yourself when you have been online since 21.00 GMT and past 24.00 you still haven't been able to complete the mission at hand. You try to use the knowledge you have acquired during almost one year in the 185th now and the thing you get in return is to suddenly be looking at the desk top while your hands are cramping on your HOTAS and you were just about to launch a slammer into a MiG-29.

I will return to my first love, Pac Man. Now, there's a simulator worth the name (thanks for the URL BigBrother). The SA is great and the flybywire controls are outstanding. You just press a key in the direction you want to go and the computer does the rest, reacting with remarkable precision and the feeling when those lonely eyes of what was recently your foe returning shamefully to home plate is unsurpassed...

OK, if you haven't figured it out already...shame on you! :). As we say in Swedish:

Apri, April you stupid herring, I can fool you how I want to...hmmmm, that doesn't come out quite the same way in English...

Actually, what I have done might be even worse, you decide:

News from the 185th: I have agreed to take on the responsibility of becoming the next XO in the 185th. I will try my best not to mess it up to much, so hopefully the 185th will survive the ordeal, lol. I want to say thank you to Bunch for his term as our XO!

Regards,

Wolverine
XO, 185th Reservoir Dogs.

News from Grey Ghosts: Shodan has accepted the role as new Flight Lead of the Grey Ghosts. Leaving the flight in his capable hands will ensure the flight's progress. Thanks for making it easy for me mate! Shodan is promoted to the rank of Major in the 185th Reservoir Dogs. Orca was approached, but declined
as he feels his work commitments doesn't allow him to take the lead role. He remains as 2IC in Grey.

Archer has decided to leave the 185th due to not being able to join Saturday night flights. He will reapply if his situation changes.

News from Red Wolves: Bunch returns to fly with Red Wolves as a pilot.
