Operation Solid Truss – Mission 29 Sunday August the 2nd
Classified: SECRET.
Intel report
A large enemy force is massed west of Ismailiya in preparation to cross the Suez canal on the Ismailiya bridge eastward into the Sinai Peninsula. The SAM and Hawk sites attacked by 185th a number of times are up and running and still causing difficulties for our air force to operate freely.
Mission
1.Viper 1 DEAD flight of4 AC will attack the SA17 and hawk at ppt 63 and 62 prioritizing the SA17 (ppt 63). If there is only 1 DEAD flight Viper will make sure the remaining SA17 lanchers are down and then turn their attention to the hawk at ppt 57 to the south, which is almost at full force. Should there be a second DEAD flight, Hawkeye 3 they will target the Hawk at ppt 57 and viper will kill the Hawk (ppt62) and the SA17 ( ppt63).
2.Mudhen 1 Strike flight 4 AC will destroy the 3 bridges spanning the Suez canal marked in the box on the map, priority to the Ismailiya bridge (SP 7) and then Abu Khalifa and suez bridges at ppts 64 and 65 respectively.
Weapons.
At flight leads discretion.
Mission Success Criteria
Viper1 MS: all remaining SA17 launchers destroyed and PS: minimum 2 SA17 launchers destroyed.
Hawkeye3 MS: Both Hawk radars and 1 launcher destroyed (ppt 57) and PS: minimum 1 Hawk radar destroyed.
Mudhen1 MS: All 3 bridges destroyed. And PS: 2 bridges destroyed one of them being Ismailiya bridge.
Results
Flight Leads in this Sunday's official mission, "Solid Truss 29" are requested to post a debrief of their flight's actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.
