Operation SOLID TRUSS – Mission 16 – Sunday 26th April 2026
[CLASSIFIED: SECRET (185th VFS Eyes Only)
SITUATION:
Following our recent successes in the El Arish area, enemy forces are significantly depleted. However, the Egyptian 79th Tank Battalion, consisting of M1A1 Abrams tanks and the M113/M2 Hybrid EIFV continues its drive northeast. They are supported by a Frog-7 battalion stationed at El Arish airbase and to some degree, the 78th Tank Battalion to the west (although this unit appears to be in disarray having been the subject of previous attention by the 185th). Units of the 224th, 225th, 226th and 176th Airborne Infantry are likely to support the push northeast but these units will be of little use against our own tank battalions moving to recapture El Arish and its surrounding area. To enable the recapture of El Arish Airbase by the Israeli 14th Infantry Battalion (currently 16 miles northeast of El Arish and supported by elements of the 4th Armoured Brigade to the south), the 185th VFS is tasked with clearing the way for their advance. To that end, your mission is to destroy or significantly reduce the ability of the 79th Tank Battalion (and supporting units) to defend the airbase.

Primary targets: Armoured vehicles (M1A1 & EIFV)

Secondary targets: Frog-7 Missile launchers (and supporting vehicles) defending El Arish Airbase.

INTEL
The airbases at Faid and Abu Suwayr are home to several squadrons of Egyptian F16-32, F16-40 and F16-52+, these remain intact and other enemy air threats have been encountered during previous missions – notably Mig29, Mirage 2000 and Rafale fighter aircraft. No SAM units have been detected in the area but pilots should keep alert to the threat of MANPADs and other mobile air defence systems that may be advancing with the armoured battalions. The Airborne Infantry units to the west of El Arish are equipped with SA-16 MANPAD (effective range: 3 miles – safe altitude 18,000 AGL).
SUPPORT
NATO continues to authorise logistical and EW support to Israeli forces. Whilst NATO forces are not permitted to engage in active combat with Egyptian forces (unless fired upon), UN Charter 11979 has authorised limited use of AEW capability. To that end, an E3A Sentry (Escorted by 2x F15C) has been tasked from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and is due to arrive on station at 18:30(L).
AIR TASKING ORDER

WEAPONS
Weapon configuration at flight lead discretion.
Mission Success Criteria:
Mission Success: 1. Ground - An average of 4 enemy armoured units destroyed per aircraft. 1a. If AI ground jettison required, no losses to enemy air 2. DCA – No losses to enemy air action.
Partial Success: 1. Ground - An average of 3 enemy armoured units destroyed per aircraft. 1a. If AI ground jettison required, maximum 1 loss to enemy air 2. DCA – Maximum 1 loss to enemy air action
Mission Fail: Any loss of friendly units caused by 185th ordnance will result in a mission fail for the pilot responsible.
Supplementary
So far, of the 4 squadrons of F16 SUFA platform deployed to the theatre, the 185th has fared best with only 5 losses of aircraft. However, whilst we anticipate that these losses will eventually be replaced/repaired, this takes time and obvious financial cost. All pilots MUST take any and all precautions necessary to return their aircraft to either Homeplate, or other friendly airbases. We cannot afford any further losses or we will be forced to transfer to a lesser platform such as the Block 30 variant. You have been warned.
Good Luck.
The 4 things a wingman is allowed to say:
1.Two 2.Lead, you're on fire. 3.I'm bingo fuel. 4.I'll take the fat one.... :/
