With the major SAM defences of the SA-10s no longer an active threat, we have forced an opening to hit the last major air base on the South Korean mainland at Kimhae.

The area is still defended by other potent SAMs, not least the two SA-6 battalions and an SA-11 (north of the airbase) and not forgetting the offshore SA_10 and the Kusnetsov carrier's SA-N-6 defences.

From the last mission's tapes, intelligence has marked up a rough guide to the location of the SAM and AAA battalions still in the area. This does NOT include the numerous other types of battalions that have SA-7, 14 and 16s at their disposal.

Fig. 1 - Intel on SAM and AAA Defences Around Kimhae

The primary focus of this mission is to shut down Kimhae if possible. Cobra 6 is the two ship given the task. A stand-off attack is recommended due to the heavy SHORAD and MANPAD presence in the area.

Mako 2 shall shut down both SA-6 battalions at PPT 66 and 68. The recorded PPTs are very accurate.

Viper 4 (F-16s) and Lancer 7 (F-15s) shall set up a CAP to protect Cobra and Mako.

Fig. 2 - Escort Flight Plan at the Target Area

The F-15C contingent, Lancer 7, shall provide air cover to the north while Viper 4 patrols the southern area highlighted above, paying particular attention to the risk from scrambling aircraft from Kimhae as well as the SU-33 threats from the carrier.

The weather has improved slightly but the cloud base at the target remains at 10000 feet.

Your loadout is at flight leads discretion.

Mission Success Criteria
Package success will be the destruction of the Kimhae runway, the two SA-6 Straight Flushes destroyed and no SEAD or OCA losses to air threats.

Partial Success shall be awarded for the destruction of the SA-6 Straight Flushes and a maximum of two SEAD or OCA F-16 losses to air threats.

Good Hunting.
