Unfortunately, Mango could not make it due to late start after tech issues.

Game plan:
Destroy carrier. Follow flight plan, drop low if necessary and see how far we can go before being spotted by red air.

Execution:
Followed WARHAWK5 and shortly after take-off we had to take care of 29s getting a bit too close. Quickly sorted with help of F-22s.
Feet wet, on our way to target, we were spotted by a 2ship Su-30s which was also sorted by both flights, but this attracted the attention of many more red air that took off from the west. Strike was aborted, mavericks jettisoned, and we handled this engagement like a slap in their face (6 fighters dispatched) only with just 1slammer to get home…
We followed WARHAWK back home and 2xMig-25s, probably on BARCAP NE of our position, picked us up as we were getting back into friendly airspace. Only one of them seemed to be interested and turned hot on me, #2 checked left and used his last slammer, slash. Now winchester, we burned our way back home and soon F-22s were around.

Straight-in approach behind WARHAWK5.

Too bad we did not make it to the objective, looking at the tape we were not that far but we would have had a very bad surprise on the way out I assume. Good engagements and sorting of targets in general, good comms, I really enjoyed this flight.

We took off and headed west but soon encountered a couple of MiG 29As from the north. I asked Mudhen to engage as we were too close and abeam the MiGs.

We pushed further west and came across four Su-24s heading south off the west coast but these were dispatched by the AI fighters.

There followed a long period of calm as we pushed further out into the Sea of Japan and turned north. We were at FL270 and around mach 0.72. The drag on the aircraft stopped us getting faster until we started dropping tanks (we had 2 x 600 gallon wing tanks and a 300 gallon centreline tank as well as 2 x AGM-65G and four spears).

About half way along our northern leg we had two SU 30s flying east. Looking at the tape I think they may have ignored us but for us spiking them. It's not clear, but we engaged them when they turned on us. No2 got a kill but mine out ran my slammer. We hook turned left and right respectively while 2 evaded an R-77. Mudhen cleared up the remaining aircraft.

We hooked turned in to fall in behind Mudhen, who in turn fell in behind us again.

There were multiple flights coming out of Samarga on the Chinese coast and another two-ship of MiG 29Ss attacked us. We dispatched the first but I wasted two slammers on a downed MiG and was now down to a heater, with No2 having one slammer and a heater left.

As Noodle said, they finished off the other MiG 29S but then had Su-30s coming in.

At this point we called an abort due to our diminishing air to air weapons and lack of intel on the threats further north.

No 2 helped clear the enemy air with Mudhen using his last slammer, then we headed south.

We cut the corner around the SA-4 threat but had two MiG-25s CAPing SE of this threat circle. I pushed us further south to try to avoid it and called in AI assistance when they showed interest in us. One MiG 25 that turned west on an attack was taken out by Mudhen.

After that it was a straight forward landing on rwy 30.

Although it was frustrating not to get to the target I thought it was a good mission. The intra-package comms were great, providing good SA and co-ordination. The same with comms to and from Vosene in No2. Sorting targets needs work on my part but overall I thought it went well. We all got home after all.
