Brief for Package 1329

Falcon 1 and Gamble 1 are both 4-ship Deep Strike flights from Mandumi AB.

Mission - The enemy is sleeping, comfortable in the phoney war that currently has no action between us. That is about to change.
We have discovered that they are in full preparation for war with some mobilisation occurring. Much of the their equipment is being produced from resources at Munch'on.

Your task is to take off at sunrise and fly low level ( no higher than 200ft AGL) to attack the Munch'on smelter (Falcon 1) and the Munch'on textile mill (Gamble 1), then return home the same way.

Friendlies - Your flights will be the only ones in the air. To put AWACs up before you fly would raise the enemy's suspicions.

Threats - There are 2 x SA-2 enroute and probably some mobilising ground troops with small arms fire and manpads. Keep low and fast. If you move quickly enough you should be home before the enemy get airborne.

Mission Success is given for no aircraft losses and a) all three factories and the warehouse destroyed at the smelter and b) textile factories 1 and 2 in the recon list plus the complete assembly building being destroyed.

Partial Success is given for no aircraft losses and destruction of a) the three smelter factories and b) the first textile factory and the assembly building.

IDM will be hosted by Falcon 1 with Gamble 1 as backup host.

Falcon12: "Echion" AA=0 AG=2 KIA
Falcon13: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=0 RTB

Low-level ingress, no issues. Had to put a couple of 360 turns in due to be ahead of TOT. Rolled onto target with a TOT 30 seconds early.

#1 released Mk-84AIR pair and fragged himself. Likely too low and didn't allow sufficient height for the building. #3 took over Lead.

#2 dropped his bombs and was engaged by 2x SA-2 which he defeated.

#3 dropped his bombs in trail.

Target was obliterated.

#2 was hit by an SA-7 during egress and crashed before he could land.

Lost Sabre on TO, took the lead, Low-level ingress with comms issues on UHF.
#13 and #12 arrived slightly early on target. Gamble13 and Falcon12 had a near miss while Gamble13's ingress.

#13 released 1 Mk-84AIR on primary target, egressed north to circle back for a 2nd pass.
#12 could not get his bombs off and flew into the western SA-2 WEZ, at this point #13 was in for a second pass when I called singer SA-2 which unfortunately had #12's name on it.
#13 released his 2nd Mk-84AIR on #12's primary target and rejoined Falcon flight for low-level egress. Spotted a smoke trail and realised it was Falcon12.
Kept formation with Falcon12 until he crashed then rejoined Falcon13 to land.
