Warning Order
=========

After the recent incursions by North Korean aircraft into South Korean airspace that were successfully repelled by the 185th CAP flight, the situation is escalating.

North Korea has moved medium range convenional missile systems towards the DMZ and has started firing these at population centers in South Korea. While these have so far all been shot down by anti-missile systems, this aggression must be deterred.

The 185th is tasked with breaking through their CAP, neutralizing any radar AD systems protecting the missile unit and then destroying the missile launchers.

More details to follow.

MS

Plan
====

Box formation 15-20nm. Wingmen Combat spread 1-1.5nm.
Rolling take-off.
Boresight on ships at Stp 3 then check boresight on ships at Stp 4.
Engage any enemy CAPs during ingress.
#1 had 1x HARM, #3 had 2x HARM to neutralize 2x SA-6 units over target are.
First element engagements Northern SCUD unit, 2nd element engage Southedn SCUD unit.
RTB with Overhead Break on R8.

Execution
========

Boresighting completed successfully.

Picked up 4x MiG-25 bandit group East of Target. First element engaged lead bandit element. #2 then got separated and had to clear to a south to avoid threats as directed by #1. #2 successfully splashed bandit, #1 bandited evaded his missile but was forced cold. 2nd element engages trailer bandit 2-ship. Both shot and killed their bandits. By this time #1 was hot and had picture watching the two bandits be splashed. The remaining bandit was forced cold and remained that way until #1 broke lock and handed the bandit over to the second element. It was then splashed by #4. Overall a good enagagement.

After breaking lock on the bandit, #1 engaged SA-6 with a Harm, destroying the radar. #2 then engaged the Southern SA-6. After this was destroyed, #1, #2 and #4 engaged ground targets while #3 remained on CAP.

Ground targets were engaged successfully although #2 got too low and was hit by AAA, losing most aircraft instruments.

Firstly #4 and then #1 escorted #2 home back to home plate where he performed a succesful emergency landing. Others also performed a successful landing.

Key Learning Points
================

Element Lead to ensure leaves hold in time to maintain maximum formation separation.

During ground attacks, use FCR and HSD on same MFD with TGP on other. After attacked target leaving THP on one MFD for SA and switch the other MFD to HSD to maintain patten orientation.

Respect the Hard Deck!
