The main focus of today's mission are the Southern Sector Air Defense
and two SA-11 sites north west to that primary objective.

The first picture shows the general situation and the flight path of the Deep Strike.

The second picture shows the main target for the Shark strike flight.
There are two Corps Bases to the west, these are targets of opportunity.
To the north we identified at least two full strength SA-11 battalions.
These are the main targets for Stud and Viper, the SEAD flights.

Package 12248

Preconditions:
MS per pilot is RTB and a parked jet,
PS is given for RTB w/o proper parking the jet (crash on landing ...),
MF otherwise (airframe lost/destroyed for any reason).

Shark1 is a four ship Deep Strike flight.
MS success is Southern Sector Air Defense destroyed.
PS is given if the main target is reduced to 50%.
It is flight lead's decision in communication with the
package commander to attack targets of opportunity.

Snake1 is the four ship (close) escort.
MS is no air losses to the Strike flight with a PS for two losses max
due to A2A.

Stud1 and Viper1 are four ship SEAD flights.
The main target are the SA-11 to the north west.
A MS is given for at least 50% of fired munition hit per flight
and no losses by radar SAM to Shark and Snake,
a PS is given for at least 25% and max two losses to Shark and Snake.
Important: The SEAD flights have no escort and are responsible for
their own safety. It is recommended to disengage if any bandits
show up on the ingress route.

Stud and Viper are from the 911th squadron and take off from Chongju AB,
while Shark and Snake are from the 912th squadron at Yeonchon.

IDA will be from Snake1.
Snake11 is package commander.

Timings:

Flight Task TO PP TOT IDM VHF TACAN	FL

Shark1 Deep Strike	21:52	22:11	22:22 1 1 11/74	220
Snake1 Escort 21:50	22:09	22:20 2 2 16/79	260
Stud1 SEAD 21:51	22:02	22:13 3 3 21/84	250
Viper1 SEAD 21:53	22:04	22:15 4 4 26/89	250

Flight path is fixed for mutual support. Escort and SEAD can modify WPTs
and altitude over target. Trade altitude for speed to be on time at PP and target.
The weather is fair at home plates and at the target.

Good Hunting

We took off as planned and had no events on the way to the FLOT except that Shark was behind caret.

When crossing the FLOT, since there was too much separation between the escort and the flight, so we turned cold to close the separation. At this time Stud was A-A, which put the in the postion to cap, which they did.

After closing the distance, we turned back north, and from this moment on, we had lots of contacts.
In the end, the hostile targets were taken out between Stud and Snake.

When Stud was BINGO we continued CAPing until Shark was RTB and then flew back home behind the strike flight.

It was a challenging flight for us since we had no AWACS and had to coordinate with all the flights, all while having lots of unknown contacts from all directions except South...

Took off and followed the flightplan on caret. Passing the FLOT the AWACS went silent and we picked up target on our right gimbals that didnt respond to STT. They turned out to be no factor.

Engaged SA-11 as briefed. Shortly after calling Arizona we picked up SA-10 (doh!...) Turned cold and established CAP while escort went south and picked up strike flight.

We began to pickup multiple groups coming in from the west and north. While setting up an attack on a group still 40nm away, we suddenly had F-16s popping up at ~25nm beaming left to right (eastward) on radar that we had to engage and immediatly run south. Popup F-16s too close for comfort turned out to be a recurring theme on the remaining passes, so quite busy and quite messy.

Good comms and package lead from Snake1. Maybe Strike could have been called in earlier, but I dont think any of us had a clear picture of what was going on until the end when Strike were actually called in.

Due to being fuel critical #1 had to call RTB and leave the package early.

RTB was uneventful and we landed with 1500lb of fuel left.
