Very pleased to announce that the 185th VFS will have a stand at the 2014 Flight Sim Show being held at RAF Cosford Museum on Saturday 04 October.
Crowebar, Sabre and Skal will be on the 185th stand demonstrating multiplayer BMS so drop by, have a chat and try out the sim.
Exhibitor details
We will also be hosting a 185th Open Training Night on Thursday 09 October from 1900-2200UK where non-Sqn members can join our TeamSpeak, chat to our members, try out multiplayer BMS and fly with us in a training mission. We will also have members on hand to help resolve any issues with BMS multiplayer. Further details, including TeamSpeak server, closer to the date.

Preparations are going well towards this event. We have produced a 2 Meter wide banner to go above our stand as below:

And for anyone planning on visiting us, Skal, Sabre and myself will be on stand 13 on the floor plan below.

Nice position Crowebar. Any chance the plans legend can be changed so that we are the 185th and not the 85th?

OK, here's the money shots!

During the show, Crowebar & Sabre draw the crowds with an MP mission

Sabre (left) & Crowebar (right) with the squadrons newest recruit - Lexi (centre)

Unfortunately Mrs Crowebar hasn't passed her test on using the camera today (wrong button?) so number of pictures are limited

I think that Sabre and Crowebar deserve a big hand for this event. Just moving all the equipment is a big chore. I was interested to see that both are extracting mfd's and gauges on their lower monitors. I guess it is true, the fighter pilots get the girl. Good job to all.

| Overall interest was really good, we were the only combat flight sim at the show with the rest being primarily FSX and Prepar3d and one X-Plane (that I saw) and all were using more or less the same hardware (Saitek yokes etc.) so when they saw us it must have grabbed their attention seeing something different. We had a good crowed around as at all times and had 2 pilots on the sim with the 3rd engaging the crowd and it worked really well. I think the business cards were being collected in good quantities as we had to top up the table a few times. All in all it looked promising for a good turnout for the open day on Thursday. |
