Flight Role: SEAD
Falcon 11: Sharpe AA=0 AG=2 RTB
Falcon 12: Reds AA=0 AG=4 RTB
Falcon 13: Skal AA=0 AG=1 RTB
Falcon 14: Jack AA=0 AG=3 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

We briefed to depart ahead of Fury flight and then retrograde but Reds had some IVC technical's and we eventually allowed Fury to overtake us on the taxiway. Soon after Reds got his technical sorted and we departed.

As Fury called inbound to the area to the West of the target area Falcon proceeded into the main target area. As we moved in to attack the target area we called 3 or 4 SA11's active over the target area and informed the Strike lead and suggested a hold until Falcon engaged.

At this point all hell broke loose as pop up SA13's and SA11's very quickly engaged 1 and 3 just ahead of the release point for the SA11's over the target area. 1 and 3 managed to fire their Shrikes while defending SA11 shooters.

Sadly Falcon 1 wasn't really on top of his game and was slow to react to this pop up threat but eventually managed to call to notch the SA13 as the SA11 had gone dark. After this Falcon 1 went in to engage one of the SA11's over the target area, followed by 3.

After this, 2 and 4 engaged targets of opportunity with clusters in the AO while 1 and 3 went into a CAP to provide cover while the package egressed. We then returned without incident.

Overall comments:
- Don't get target fixation and get sucked into hostile territory to get your weapons away, especially if you don't have standoff weapons.

- Recon flights are a good thing.

Good flight guys!

Flight Role: STRIKE
Cowboy11: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=3 RTB
Cowboy12: "Vieland" AA=0 AG=7 RTB
Cowboy13: "Flying Stone" AA=0 AG=1 RTB
Cowboy14: "Floyd" AA=0 AG=1 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

Took off with five second seperation and made a 350 knots slow climb to FL25. As we approached the target area we were given notice to hold station while multiple SAM threats were engaged.

While this progressed and it was pretty clear that not all threats would be destroyed, I called 2, 3 and 4 to go to our SP9 and do a reverse route attack on the three bridges while I went out to the sea and attacked the depot from there.

We were all being spiked by SA11s but we weren't inside the threat circles so we prosecuted our attacks, dropping pairs of 1000lb JDAMs on them. All were destroyed on this first attack.

At this point Vieland and myself, followed a few minutes later by Floyd, had CTD's. Flying Stone took his bird home.

After hearing that the rest of the flights were nearly home, Vieland and I rejoined only to see our empty aircraft hanging around over the SA11's. So we jumped back in purely to rescue the aircraft and bring them home.

An interesting mission, nicely executed by all.

Fury 13: Ironman AA=0 AG=1 RTB

Mission Outcome: MS

We went around Falcon flight and departed 1st, ingress was uneventful. We found an active SA-2 at Split and took it down. After that, 2 noticed a Mig-21 threat and we set up a "grinder" to monitor it. It turned out to be a false return from a landed 21 at Split.

After that we took turns coming in and out of the target area engaging SA-11s as needed. Once the Strike was off-target, we RTB'd.

Good fun and beers at "O" club followed ... all-in-all a great night!!
