Flight Role: STRIKE Lobo11: "Utopic" AA=0 AG=2 RTB Lobo12: "Zipgun" AA=0 AG=4 RTB Lobo13: "Ironman" AA=0 AG=2 RTB
Mission Outcome: MS
Good planning, good execution, good flight.
We headed in without any incidents, but on the way in to the IP I picked up a hostile contact and decided to stay A-A and monitor while Zipgun and Ironman went A-G and released.
The contact disappeared after a while but it was too late for me to engage my target. I turned around and reset above the water then came back again and dropped my bombs.
I also heard a call about a missile in the air, which turns out to be a SA5 launch at Ironman's AI plane - good call and SA.
We then came back home and landed without any major incidents in spite of the inclement weather.
Good mission. |

Flight Role: STRIKE Fury11: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=1 RTB Fury12: "Flying Stone" AA=0 AG=2 RTB Fury13: "Veiland" AA=0 AG=2 RTB
Mission Outcome: PS
Last to take off we climbed to A27 and headed to our SP over the sea then turned in to the targets. We were lit up by SA-11s and 13s but had no launches against us. We dropped all six 2000lb JDAMs. Five out of six destroyed the target. One of mine missed. We returned out to the sea and beyond the SA-11 reach and held station for AA support if needed, until Lobo finished their attack and were on their way home.
Nice landing from us in bad weather and good move by Flying Stone in deciding to go around rather than joining Sabre's 'Fence Club'.
Good comms, good SA, good cover.
