Flight leads in this Sunday's mission, "Hobson's Choice" are requested to post a debrief of their flights actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.

Uneventful ingress, we were vectored to engage 3xMiG23s. I got one, Elmo got another and handed the third over to Viper1.
We were asked to support Viper1 against MiG29Gs. Elmo and I were in hot on 4xMi8s, so sent the second element. Sabre got a MiG29.
Elmo destroyed all 4 Mi8s with guns, with me supporting.
AWACS vectored us to 4xSu32s. I destroyed one, damaged another, then was winchester. Elmo destroyed another and was winchester. Somewhere here Sabre ejected - not sure what happened to him. I had no data from Jack (#4), so did not know where he was.
Elmo & I had visual on Spirit1 and monitored it while landing.
RTB uneventful - we held back while Novac landed on fumes. |

Took off and directed to stay east of FP by AWACs until a skirmish involving Stud and Snake was over.
After that we moved to the west of the FP as briefed. We were tasked to engage Mig 23s. I took down one and after our other shots missed Weasel took over and mopped up.
We regrouped and moved NE and set up the rolling CAPs for Spirit. We were next tasked to engage Mig 25s coming from the SE. My shot missed but 2, 3 and the AI all destroyed one each.
Getting close to the home plate the enemy threw everything at us. we were involved in a Mig 29G skirmish where Floyd killed one, the remainder mopped up by another flight.
Our last encounter was with three Su27s from the NW. Novac and I took out two of them. I was close to the last one and went to fire only to discover I was Winchester! Bit of a shock that! Luckily for me, as I went in with guns, another slammer was in the air and I watched it hit.
Unfortunately we lost the AI in that encounter.
Apart form Novac bagging a helicopter, the mission was over and we landed safely, Novac on fumes.
Lessons learned.
1. Keep a close eye on how many weapons you have left.
2. Without AWACs I believe that mission would have had a much darker outcome.
3. Discipline is important and keeping the flight together, particularly in missions like this, is paramount.
A really good mission with lots going on. Nice one Utopic.
Lastly, huge kudos to Vosene who was excellent in the AWACs role and was, I believe, the difference between mission success and failure on this mission.

Mission Plan: Cover the route west of the flightpath, establishing a moving cap, protecting the target on egress.
Execution- shots made:
On ingress:
2ship contacts on toksan. Visually id'ed as choppers, dropped.
4ship takeoff Mig21's. Visually engaged by #1, downed 2, remainders successfully downed by #2
On egress: Established CAP, visual on Toksan, monitoring for takeoffs.
Tasked by AWACS and engaged 4ship Su27 west of homeplate. Downed 3, lost #2.
Uneventfull RTB.
Excellent mission overall. Vosene as AWACS did a spectacular work giving SA and tasking flights. Great job from everyone.
