Took off and climbed to A25-29 and allowed 2x F15 Escort to push ahead to clear the way as best as possible for AI. Picked up an SA15 on route - no factor at high Angels - warned Strike Flight, then an SA6 popped up on the flight route. #1 engaged but unsuccessful with HARM so #3 attempted with success. F15s were busy ahead of us and AWACs (Lumper) vectored us towards the air threats after confirming the F15s were down to 1 AC. An SA6 to the left and SA4 to the right of flight path popped up but were not a serious threat and the main priority was an SA2 at the target. Mig 23s were engaged successfully and an SA10 popped up North of the target that became the priority. #2 engaged and destroyed the SA10 but was unsuccessful with the SA2 so #1 took out the SA2 leaving the target clear for the Deep Strike. #1 was winchester so #2 & #3 completed AA engagements with SU33 and Mig 21s. #2 joined #1 and circled at high angels south of the target avoiding a lonely Mig 29 that was spiking now and again, whilst #3 provided extra air support for the Strike Flight before destroying the SA6. Once Cowboy 1 had finished bombing Falcon 1 now all winchester remained close to Cowboy 1 for air protection before flying home to RTB with a mission success and all birds home - well all except our #4 AI wingman that did us proud for once, with 4 AA kills before he was shot down.
Lumper in AWACs did a fine job in directing the flights - Nice TE & good comms.

Good mission, we followed as briefed and stayed out of harms way until cleared to the target. Blade and Mango in first with Maverick G's on the main cluster of buildings. Sabre and AI tarcapped because first flight was almost winchester. Sabre and AI prosecuted attack against stand alone factory, only target left after Blade and Mango. We bombed it, we gunned it, we swore at it, but it wouldn't die or burn down. Then we rtb'd. Sabre was damaged bit had enough fuel to orbit whilst the others landed on the single runway.
Good comms, good flight discipline and good directions from AWACS... Well done Guys. Pleasure to fly with Blue as always.

The plan was to take mav G's to give us a stand off capability due to threats in the brief about mobile sams and AAA.
We held on the ground until given clearance by Claw and Falcon.
Uneventful flight for Cowboy until close to the target. Informed by Falcon that the SA2 was still active. We went in hot and fired 6 mavG's at the main factory's and warehouse, destroying those on the 1st pass. Turned cold when engaged by SA2's
Also at this time we were engaged by a good mixture of enemy aircraft. SU33, MIG21, J11.
By this time Claw & Falcon flight were either winchester or shot down and from my position it turned into a fur-ball with the enemy in visual range.
#2 Homer saved my tail once but unfortunately was shot down himself within a few seconds of saving me.
In the end Cowboy claimed 7 enemy AC but with the loss of all of Cowboy flight. Not a good day!
Personally I did not drop my A2G stores which was a BIG mistake. Not sure if other members of Cowboy did or not!
