Members who flew as a Flight Lead in the Sunday mission, Postponed Reunion - Affair of Honour, are requested to post a debrief by Tuesday evening.

Mission Goal: Protect the Cowboy flight from A/A
Mission Plan: Combat spread at A32+ with the second element trailer at 10-15 NM. MAR was set at 22NM on ingress as R77M's were anticipated, 20NM at egress, cold legs at A20 with music off.
Shots Made:
1. 2ship Su35 engagement over the flot inside an SA6 envelope: 2 long fox3 fired by #1 and #2, 2 hits, #1 defensive from R77M and 2xSA6, trashed, 2# defensive from R77M, hit and eject.
2. 2ship Su35 engagement near the target: #3 no burnthrought, went cold, hit by R27TE,ejected. #1 long fox3, 1 hit.
3. 2*2ship on the flot at egress at A29 and A1: 3 hot-cold 3egs by #1, 3 long fox3, 3 hits.

Overall A/G picture from the SEAD flight was excellent and kept the flight out of unexpected trouble.
Mission outcome was a failure as Cowboy11 got shot down by Su35.

Lessons Learned:
Respect the MAR's. R77M's are superior to the AMMRAM's and a very early high speed pump is required.
Respect the silent killer: The R27TE can lock on an afterburner at ranges of 20NM.Dropping flares is not optional against SU27's

Objective - 2 Aircraft Land & rescue President & Spouse from assigned runway & RTB.

Sabre FL
Ballistic #2

Took off and flew at A37 remaining out of AA engagements as decided at brief. However got within weapons range and engaged SU35s close to stpt 4, went defensive but Sabre hit by R27-TE - Ejected. Since only 1 AC left in Cowboy 1 Ballistic called mission Abort as a MS could not be achieved. on the return journey Ballistic offered support to Escort/SEAD Escort & engaged and destroyed 1 Mig 29 before RTB for a mission failure.

Learning - should have turned and stayed beyond weapons range of SU35s I think.

I had trouble remembering what happened on the night guys so Ive got little hope of remembering 3 days later

From a mission planning point of view we decided to move the flight path a little more to the east to try and avoid the western airbases.

Took off with 15 mile separation from 2nd element of Fury flight.
#1 staying A2A while #2 scanned for SAM threats.
1st and only threat on the flight path was an SA10. #2 was unable to see the threat on his HTS so #1 switched A2G and destroyed the flaplid.

Around this time the su35's were on the scene.
Unfortunately 3 of Fury flight fell victim to the SU35's (No details sorry) That left only Vosene who tagged along as #3 with Falcon flight.

The Su35's were engaged with #1 getting one kill.
#2 was hit by an R-27TE and ejected.
I think Vosene got the last remaining su35??

That left the area clear for Cowboy to land.

On egress 4 ship Mig29s picked up 2 high level 2 low level.
#1 and Vosene engaged the high threats and turned cold.
Each getting one kill.
#1 turned in hot after missile went pitbull. BIG mistake as was hit by an R77.
Vosene was winchester at this point. So that left Cowboy to finish of the remaining 2 migs. Each getting a kill each.

Only 3 aircraft RTB'd for a MS.

I enjoyed the mission and was kept busy throughout. The mig 29 2 ship in the weeds was a little sneaky Floyd. Good job we spotted them!

Pretty much the same lessons as the other flights.....Respect the R77!!
