Here is a link to the new 185th Multiplayer SOP 3. It covers procedures for VFR departures, formation administration and recovery.
They will be especially useful for large scale TEs or when Flights combine as the document provides SOPs for routine phases of flight.
All members of the 185th should review the document and ensure they are familiar with the procedures. Pay particular attention to the recovery procedures as this is an area when we have historically created potential collision hazards by adopting different landing procedures, especially when more than one flight is landing at the same airbase.
For those of you interested there will be a further training session on the new SOP on Wednesday 01 October from 1930UK. Sign up here.
It was a good night, IMO a great turn out, thanks to everyone who turned up and made the night what it was (Ghostrider and reds get a special mention here :P). it was good to fly with people i dont usually fly with and i learned a lot. Although i was not able to take a full part in the nice little surprise that vosene had organised (a nice little twist which really kept things interesting) due to a comms issue that meant i got as far as typing "goin..." and i find myself in (in reverse order) night vision ILS mode, manual pitch over ride and yep you guessed it gear down @ 350 kts! DOH! after ripping off what remained of my gear @ 550kts and a few aerobatics at angels 0.01 over the heads of those who already landed i put my plane neatly on the inactive runway, a perfect crash landing
thanks again to everyone especially Vosene for organising it i really enjoyed it! hopefully next week ill be able to slip in late and un-noticed as i did this week.
Here are some pics from that night.....you forgot to mention the "holding short" from reds .....he meant 5 meters from runway when Griffin and Vosene were landing.
Novac, Reds and Tiag.....Reds holding short.... Helldiver.....low and slow pass at the end of the night. Almost everyone landed....:-) Great night.....see you in the next training.
