this time folks we come home covered in glory
initial indications all 16 bandits downed for the loss of just 1 185th pilot
honour restored after the complete pasting we got last time by these guys

yes excellent everyone! very good sa, discipline and comms from everyone! it really was a huge success!
@bigbrother: nope, no technicals at all! not even lag or warping (on my end at least).

just before we all get carried away in the euphoria :)
the EHAF guys are extremly committed and very very good. they managed to damage the target despite the mauling.
post battle thoughts are the vietnam mini campaign served its purpose in that the 185th had the edge in WVR tactics in an outnumberd situation. learning about getting in under the big stick (F4 phantom)to get into sidewinder range has paid off . fighting the AI its all BVR shots that work. against human pilots it works a lot less, both sides usually defeated the BVR shots. also no external views mean you do have to fly with much more caution since you dont know your missile results.
i have to say getting a kill and living to tell the tale against the very good EHAF pilots gets the adrenline pumping. mowing down the AI does not do it for me the way this does.
overall we are about 1 to 1 with the EHAF and i cant wait for the next encounter.
however we owe them an attack with 16 pilots...problem is will i get 16 185th pilots comitted and willing enough to take them on
if so i will plan two operations, "Operation Fabian" and "Operation Chastise". we have some smooth moves among our mud mover specialists, i would like them to strut thier stuff.
if so them some mini TEs will be sent for the various teams to practice some very specific stuff.
this will all be put together in on of the above plans
what say you do i have 16+ pilots.

Hallo all ,
Thanks for participating in this Event , and I am very glad you all have
enjoyed it.
Also a big thanks to the E-Haf Pilots that did manage to turn up on a very sort notice.
E-Haf is a very old and one of the Best VFS in the Falcon Community and have many Skilled and Disciplined Pilots .
They also enjoyed flying with us and so far as i know they are fired up until our next meeting.
Like Tomb said , we owe them an Attack and Defend scenario , with the 185th Attacking this time.
As from my point of view , my package did excellent in many aspects ,like mutual support , comms, discipline ,tactics. I really had a fantastic time , as the challenge to flight against real human pilots adds to the realism and to the level of difficulty.

It would be nice to fly for once without the enhanced padlocking...
Or to fly with squadrons that are using enchanced padlocking, I know that most of the Greek V-pilots have it disabled or reallistic.
I haven't seen the roster, to tell if this was a victory, I believe it is the 320-321 flying and not the 391 squadron from e-haf?

We here in the 185th are glad the we have participated in this Event and we don't see it as an Victory against Rivals.
At the end of the day both Squadrons were happy and satisfied to exchange experience and flight time together.
The padlocking set up is in the personal preferences of each Pilot , some use Realistic or Enhanced and some don't use it at all.
As for which Fighting Wing took part from E-Haf in this Event is really not the point here , since the Pilots we met this time and also in the previous event were very good Pilots and did a very good job.
So , i really don't understand what the meaning of your reply to this topic is , especially since you have not participated in this particular Event.
Thanks for your opinion anyway ,it is appreciated.

you need padlocking to use the HMS...
the big advantage is to have track IR, enhanced padlock i dont recall that in the last mission
it may have been active i did not use it so cant say for sure
for a large advantage have track IR and disable padlocking for pilots that dont...
seems fair....if you have track IR.
guess its always up for debate how "realistic" it is for sure viewing on a small screen at low resolution compared to your eyes is not so realistic...
its always going to be a point for debate i guess, some types of padlock are not that realistic and some are more "realistic" to what you could actually see perhaps the discussion should be re-opened ?
