Hi all the current recruitment situation seems to move to a slower phase, and we don't know the reason for that. In the period Aug-Oct we had an average of 5 new applications per week.
Therefore we need to take action to prevent stagnation so that we regularly get new blood in the Squadron.

We intend to launch two events first a test FLY-IN without much advertisement ,some adds will of course be put up (our own website would be one place) to find interested pilots to fly with us . Then in Jan-Feb we will launch a major FLY-IN EVENT where new pilots can fly with us. Now its so much easier to organize an event like this while we have a uniform installation with Allied Force compared to the old days of the various SP versions.

Command is therefore looking for volunteers to get involved in the FLY-IN events both in the test version and in the major event in Jan-Feb.

What needs to be done?

Invitation add/poster on as many Falcon related websites as possible ( the graphic are already done thnx Griffin)

Cater for two separate or at least one TS server Drummer (BB) (PJC) known to have server client installed .

At least two or preferably three or even four different TEs servers up and running where ppl can find a Varity of TE missions on different skill levels all from newbies to hardcore pilots.

So we need to sort out TEs that have been proven to be stable.

We will also take to opportunity to make attempt to find more AWACS controllers in the process of advertising these events.

Places to put up adds would be Frugals,Sim HQ, Falcon Hyperlobby , Our website, and any other sim related or Falcon related websites.

I'm happy to help but we have a problem

What version of AF will we fly. 1.08/1.09 - unstable we think.
Revert back to 1.07 and we are probably on our own with no new pilots using it.

We may have to postpone.

Not intending to be negative here just realistic

cheers,
Ballistic

Ballistic has raised a very good point. I think we need to have the latest patch installed for people to join the fly-in as I don't think many people will mess with their install just to do a one of event with the 185th.

Those members of the 185th who are helping with the fly-in could have a dual install but the 1.08/1.09 stability problems remain. If C3PO reads this maybe he can give us a rough idea when we might see 1.10 (ie weeks or months) as this may sway the date of the fly-in.

Weeks, we hope. What would be very helpful would be a definitive list of bugs -- listed in order of severity -- which you're encountering. If there are big issues with 1.0.9, of course we want to see them corrected. A list of ten in descending order would be enough (hopefully less!).

Well just my 2p worth...
What has happened with the attendance lately, there are 38 pilots on the roster including trainees.

I see Bruges is still listed as Grey for example and I know flights are short of pilots on a Sunday TE.

What are we doing about attendance?

Minimum Requirement specification may be preventing newcomers?

PO manual says 512kbps download / 200kbps upload required as minimum!!!

I don't have this upload speed

cheers,
Ballistic

Hi Guys well reg Bruges he are to make the assessement flight, but requested to do it in his own phase as his work comittment allows him.I am convinced he will do that in a relativly near future.Regarding upload download speed I have to say I totally have overlook that and we need to take a position on this ASAP and I suggest we let all SOs send their opinion to Tracer/PJ.

Regarding the flight night attendance I would like the SO to speak with you team and ask if there are some particular reasons
while pilots not have attended lately? As you all know we have our 50% rule that can't be bend except when it comes to reallife committments, work shedule, illness, etc.
We have as you all know the ongoing Intersquad campaign, the weelky TEs and weekly training, planed activitys are Video groupe,Fly-in event X2,command would absolutly like to have some adittional ideas from the memebers on how we can increase both the recruitment and the weekly attendance.

Please let us have your opinion guys?

This requirement was changed less than two weeks ago so it has not caused the drop-off in applications.

Most people on a broadband connection have a minimum quoted upload speed of 256 kbps. We chose 200 kpbs to allow for the fact that the tested speed is always lower than this. According to the data I have, only two current members of the Sqn can't meet this requirement, yourself and Fiero. It is therefore not a difficult hurdle for the vast majority of prospective members to meet and no existing member of the 185th will be asked to resign because they don't meet this requirement.

The figures were chosen because it will allow all pilots to host a 6-ship TE, the minimum number of human pilots currently required for our CPL Flight Nights and to cope with the ever increasing number and density of units we are now experiencing in our Sunday night TEs.

I really can see whats wrong with 1.09 patch.
Besite the factor that TE's based on the 1.07 patch may not be working correctly, the 1.09 patch with TE's build in this Patch work without any problems.Tested so far in more than 20 missions ,both in Xmas Tree, and over in the Readiness server, where we fly allways more than 8 pilots in one Mission.
Me ,so far i have made 3 clean installs of the patch 1.08 just to be able to fly in the Sunday T.E.And then patch the game again to 1.09 just to fly on Xmas tree and with my friends in Readiness.
Since 1.08 and 1.09 have no differences in Multyplayer,in my opinion we should either switch to 1.09 or get back to 1.07 (and loose all the fixes of 1.09).

that is my view also since the year end is in sight

go to 1.09 for 2007 and all TE's must be produced in 1.09, no old TE's to be used

or back to 1.07 which is more robust and stable
