Hi mates!
U heard it already, i'm sure. x-mas tree 2nd edition will use relistic refuel settings and the new 1.08 patch. i tried and refueling at realistic settings is achievable without to much training. nevertheless, aa-refuling is not anyones favorite hobby. so i try here to collect some experiences from u all. please post here, how u did the realistic refueling with 1.08 if u already tried. if not, isuggest highly u try. it goes much smoother now, the boom and the guy who 'flies' the boom as well are a great help now. the boom is now flexible and slows u down at a certain area. please rty it and post your experience here.
thx

Sounds good GhostRider - I will comment once I install 1.08 but that won't be until it becomes 185th standard.
cheers, Ballistic |

Slight Increase in airbrakes before connecting and during refuelling, as it make u control your speed in a better way (more accuratly)
Thats from my own experience

I found refueling in this patch much better. The tanker is a lot more helpful and realistic as I understand it. I'm not the best refueler in the world but at least I can do it. Nice.

i realise my earlier outburst may not have been that helpful
open the door early on, remember to hard lock the tanker, and stabilise your altitude first before speed.
in contrast to snakebite i found myself having the brakes closed and making small speed adjustments with the throttle. horses for courses i suppose!
and for posterity:

Thats all what it needs.. It just dampens your controls a bit. Maybe it only works for me!!

Nice red paint, SB! Where to buy? looks like everyone has his own method to handle that, and thats the way it should be i think.
i repeat to all the others: try realistic refueling, even if those two words give u the same feeling when u think about biting on a fork!!
