Classified: SECRET.
Intel report Despite our efforts, the large enemy force massed west of Ismailiyan continues to grow in preparation for it's move into the Sinai Peninsula. Most relevant SAM and Hawk sites have been destroyed or heavily degraded thanks largely to the efforts of the 185th. One full Hawk battalion remains but that is currently south of the mission area.
Egypt has manged to resupply it's air bases and the skies are busy with enemy aircraft.
Mission
A kill box has been added to your data cartridge. Mudhen6 will attack vehicles in the southern end of the box while Cajun4 attacks the northern end, particularly at the air base where a large number of vehicles are mustered.
Weasel3 is an F-16 DCA and is Package Commander. They are supported by Rumble4, 4xF-15C on DCA to their north.

This was a disaster.
We were low on numbers today (five pilots) and so we elected to fly the two AI flights, leave the F-15's to be run by the sim and deleted the F-16 DCA.
Take-off an ingress was uneventful, but as we approached the target area the skies became very busy. I monitored the situation, tagging some contacts and sending my wingmen to investigate. We had to engage some bandits, while AI flights took care on the large number to Red Air.
We noted that the skies had gone quiet and I ordered my flight in for the ground attack. Myself and 3 managed to get some munitions away (2 x Rampages and 4 x GBU-54 on each aircraft) with some success. 2 did not and went towards enemy air that suddenly appeared from the south. Unfortunately he didn't say anything and first 3 then myself were shot down followed by 2.
Shortly before that, during my attack run I noted a "29" spike and called my flight to retreat, followed by an abandon mission call, but too late.
Lesson Learned 1. Flight MUST stick together in mutual support. 2. Leads must be informed of any perceived threats so that they can react accordingly. 3. Do not get so target fixated that you don't spot a closing threat. 4. Call "Mission Aborts" in good time and don't take risks with the package.
We lost five Vipers and four Eagles tonight. Not good.
