Flight role: OCA Strike

Warhawk61: "Griffin" AA=0 AG=4 RTB
Warhawk62: "Gecko" AA=0 AG=1 RTB
Warhawk63: "Noodle" AA=1 AG=1 RTB
Warhawk64: "Redfox" AA=0 AG=2 RTB

MS

We had a three ship take off as Redfox had some network issues. He joined us a little later on.

We flew to SP4 north of the target. 2 and 3 orbited while I went in with jammers on to drop a GBU 31 AP on the Low Blow, all the while hoping that the jammer would keep me safe. It did and my bomb hit it's mark.

As I peeled off to the east I called Gekko and Noodle in to attack the runways. They dropped 2 x GBU 31 AP on sections on each runway respectively, succesfully destroying them and putting the air base out of action.

I came around again at the same time and destroyed the Flat Face at the SA-3 battalion with my remaining bomb. (POST NOTE: While creating the next mission I noted that the Flat Face is up, even though it was shown as destroyed. Good supply chain again?)

Following completion of our tasks we set up a CAP on heading 320/140 to cover Redfox as he came in for his attack. He did this efficiently, destroying the two high value targets at that site.

The CAP kept watch on some SU-33s in the far distance and a pair of MiG21-13s. One was taken down by a Patriot but one that was 30 miles behind me was dragged to Noodle and I had a great view of Noodle's AIM-120 leaving his aircraft as he flew over me, successfully killing the bandit.

We did a really good OHB at Pula and parked up for our tea and medals. A job really well done by the pilots in this mission.

Flight role: OCA Strike

Warhawk61: "Pegasus" AA=0 AG=0 KIA
Warhawk62: "Bayonet" AA=0 AG=2 RTB
Warhawk63: "Mango" AA=0 AG=1 KIA
Warhawk64: "Jules" AA=0 AG=2 RTB

MS

Discovered that we do not have HARMs or SDBs in this squadron. And that we had an active SA-2 at our target.

We went with GBU-31s as the best weapon choice.

Our plan was to go in line abreast, and overwhelm the SA-2, with any targeted aircraft going defensive.

As it was, our line-abreast was a bit rubbish, and Pegasus was too late going defensive and got shot down by the SA-2 (which seems more deadly than previously).

Mango forged ahead and got the Fan Song, but fell victim to the SA-2 before the bomb landed. The SA-3 which we thought was inactive had got its Low Blow back and is also launching.

Jules and Bayonet finished the job by destroying one runway section (0%) and the Spoon Rest.
