Posted - 20 Jul 2020 : 17:20:03 The war has started with both sides throwing up masses of air assets and SAM missiles.
Last weeks attempt to target two SA-10 Flap Lids failed due largely to the extra unknown SA-10 blocking our way, along with countless high value air assets trying to shoot us down.
The surprise SA-10 Flap Lid was destroyed by the 185th but an SA-6 was discovered as well (reportedly a Kuwaiti battalion that requested a posting here for some reason).
The two SA-10s we wanted still remain.
EDIT Two flights of four F-16s comprise this package, Cobra 5 and Weasel 7.
Weather is fair with winds from 257° at 8 knots and a cloud base of 5000 feet.
Your task this mission is to try to hit those SA-10s if possible and set up a CAP in the box shown on the figure below.
Be aware of the know SA-17 battalion to the north of the CAP zone.
Mission success is that you expend weapons and all get home safe.
Partial if you lose a pilot. |

Plan was to keep red air from getting too close and engage SA-10s. We set up 2 flights chainsaw, Cobra keeping on the N edge of the box and Weasel S, Cobra taking the first hot leg.
#3 fired Harms in POS mode which both missed, SA-17 popped up from N then S. #1 fired Harms at pop-up SA-17 and SA-10, #2 destroyed 2 SA-17. Good effects of Harms on SA-17 so far, SA-10 threat in the area is still major.
CAP was reset for a SE engagement with Su-30 supporting Weasel7 then back to original plan.
We chased Su-24s and #1 got to some cold sweats when the SA-6 popped up. Looks like it was not interested in me this time!
Another busy mission, well done guys!
