Mission
Destroy Western SA-3, SA-5 and SA-6 FCRs.

Execution
Rolling take-off from 16L at Chongwoon. #2 rejoined Fighting Wing.

Plan was to engage SA-5 first. MUD 5 on RWR and 5 on HAD from 60nm out. #1 fired HARM at 45nm, A25. Continued towards SAM, 2 launches, both easily defeated with a notch and countermeasures. Shack on SA-5 FCR, SAM system neutralized.

#2 then engaged SA-3, which fired 1x SAM at No 2, evaded. Shack.

SA-6 not lighting up. Engaged #2 when he turned cold in WEZ. #1 briefed #2 to setup outside WEZ ready to fire. #1 then entered WEZ, music off. On turning cold 6 lit up, #2 fired immediately. #1 notched and stayed inside WEZ. 6 FCR remained on and was shacked by #2’s HARM. Great teamwork and tactics.

Uneventful flight home with an Overhead Break onto R16R.

MS

1st element was tasked to attack the SA-10 to the far north while the 2nd element was to take out the closer SA-6 (mobile) and the SA-3.

The SA-10 and later the SA-6 was lighting up the RWR but nothing else for Snake flight.

While 1 and 2 were enroute to the edge of the SA-10 threat circle 3 and 4 headed to the SA-6 and 3. By this time the 6 was showing up on the HAD. 3 and 4 entered the threat circle and as 4 fired a HARM at the it, the SA-6 sent three missiles up to meet Sabre. Sabre was 9 miles from the SA-6 when it launched. 4's HARM killed it. He also found the Sa-3 on HAD and killed that too without any further SAM launches.

Meanwhile, 1 and 2 entered the threat circle for the SA-10, which is around 50 miles radius. By this time the SA-10 was on the HAD and on RWR. I launched at 45 miles from the target. Tapes show that as I turned tail immediately after firing, two SA-10s were sent in my direction. I killed the Flap Lid and the two missiles went a long way away. It was interesting to note that we were still getting a 10 symbol on the RWR. The HAD showed only a search radar "S" at the target area. I fired my remaining HARM at this and watch both my HAD and RWR to see what happened when it was hit. As soon as the S disappeared from the HAD the 10 symbol on RWR also vanished. So even if you have a 10 indicator on your RWR it doesn't mean the Flap Lid is active or even alive anymore.

After 2 used his HARMs on other targets we RTB'd with no further incidents.
