LET’S SPICE IT UP!
NEWS FLASH! - - -After our last flight, we were greeted with breaking news on the TVs in the O Club.
While this does not present a significant up-tick in air threats, rumors claim the Iranians and Russians have been repainting some of their Migs and deploying them to Lebanon and Syria. Several Syrian air strikes have targeted Israeli military and civilian facilities. As a result, the war has entered a new phase with an all-out offensive by IDF assets.
The Syrian airbase at Kalhalhak is repaired and the Mig-21s have been ambushing Interdiction flights working south of Damascus. A Hezbollah training camp is adjacent to this base and is preparing to deploy fresh recruits to the battle. We are tasked to destroy these targets.
We will be flying from the 107th and our jets are outfitted with SPICE 2000P bombs. These weapons must be pre-designated on the ground, so study page 12 of the ITO Training manual to review the proper procedure for entering targets into the weapons.
The skies are going to be VERY busy with IDF strikes deep into Syria, care must be taken to avoid Blue-on-Blue incidents.
This is a night mission and weather will not be an issue.
The package will consist of 3 flights: 2 STRIKEs, and 1 SWEEP/ESCORT – objectives are:

No RTB due to server crash.

Very short flight and mission, not a lot to say.
We took off, flew in trail all the way, released when in range ~@30 miles, and went to RTB in gate. We didn't get to land due to a server crash.
Good mission, albeit very quiet and simple. |

CAP in place
RTB as tail end charlie
IFR approach to 32L/R
Execution
Issues with AI getting airborne so ended as a singleton as the other 3 AI of Voodoo1 never took off.
Uneventful ingress apart from a lot of Blue Air.
Engaged and destroyed 2x depot with 2x 2000 Spice. Whole camp destroyed.
Setup CAP, no air threats. Watched Viking1 go in and and hit their targets. Then joined as Close Escort for Zipper1. Once their weapons released turned to RTB as tail end charlie.
During RTB we had a Blue Pause so had to Exit. Most likely caused by server crash.
