In a bid to try to reduce the huge numbers of enemy aircraft in our skies, Command has dictated that a number of flights be fragged to take out some key airbases.
Ozerskiy Airport is currently home to;
15 x MiG 29A
11 x MiG 29S
16 x SU-30SM
Putting this base out of action will significantly help our defensive efforts.
Package 990
1. Mudhen 7 - 4 ship OCA
2. Viper 3 - 2 ship SEAD
3. Plasma 6 - 4 ship Escort
Your task is to destroy both runways at the base (rwys 23/05 LR).
Apart from the obvious air threats there are SA-2 and SA-3 sams in the area as well as the target being on the edge of an SA-5's threat circle.
Your route has been planned to make as much use of our Patriot coverage as well as taking you away from the main flow of enemy aircraft. You will need to be on full alert as you approach the target. Avoid confrontations wherever possible if you wish to succeed intact.
MS = Both runways taken out of action, no losses to radar SAMs and no losses to the OCA strike from air threats.
PS = Both runways taken out of action and no more than two losses to the OCA strike from air threats.
At our home plate, the Skyguard has been replaced with a Nike battalion and a further Hawk battalion is on station north of the airbase.
Results
Flight Leads in this Sunday's official mission, "New Millennium 5" are requested to post a debrief of their flight's actions, including any lessons learned or that should be learned by others.
