Posted - 05 Mar 2018 : 17:06:40 The war to reclaim Lebanon is progressing well. There have been two items in the far north that have been an issue. Firstly the MiG-21's launched from Al Qusayr AB and secondly the SA-5's that keep nagging at our RWR's and one that protects Al Qusayr.
Your mission is to destroy the runway with multiple hits at Al Qusayr, destruction of both the Barlock-B of the 300th ADB and the Low Blow (SA-3) of the 61st ADB.
There is there active 146th ADB (SA-2) to the west of our route. This can be destroyed or avoided.
Intelligence informs us that a suspected SA-6 ADB is at Kalahat Ruba Camp, which is on our current route. This must be should and destroyed if possible.
You will be aware that there is a considerable lack of intelligence this far north. There is another package in front of you attacking the factories in the same vicinity (all below your flight levels). Pay attention to their actions en route.
All flights in your package are from the 4329th squadron at Hezarim AB.
Recovery air base is at Ramat David, runway 30 (303°), UHF 341.40, tacan 045X.
Camel 1 will be available for refuelling from 00:15 off the coast in the location marked. It will be flying at FL240 at 275 knots.
Package 24614 Stud 2 is a three ship OCA flight. MS is for destruction of the runway at Al Qusayr. There is no PS for this flight.
Viper 2 is a two ship SEAD flight. MS is destruction of the Low Blow and Barlock-B radars at the target, plus no losses to the flight from known or suspected radar guided SAMs. PS for one loss to the escort and OCA flights from radar guided SAMs.
Weasel 2 is the four ship Escort and Package Commander. MS is no losses from air threats. PS is given for 1 loss.
IDA will be from Weasel 2.
Timings
TO for Stud 2 is 00:04hrs with cruise altitude at FL270. IDM 1, VHF 1, tacan 11/74.
TO for Viper 2 is 00:02hrs with cruise altitude at FL280. IDM 2, VHF 2, tacan 16/79.
TO for Weasel 2 is 00:00hrs with cruise altitude at FL290-300. IDM 3, VHF 3, tacan 21/84.
Flight path is fixed for mutual support. Should you wish to alter the route then ALL flights must be altered to match.
Watch your fuel. Compared to our recent sorties this is a long flight.
The weather is good at home plates and at the target. But don't forget that it's dark at night!!!!
Weapons choice is free.
Good Hunting

Quiet ingress, good clearance by Escort and SEAD flights. We went low level and attacked the target with BLU-107. Some AAA over target but both aircraft successfully hit runway. During egress 2 was hit by a lucky SA-7 shot at low level and was KIA.
Stud21 RTB'd without issue, with a straight in approach onto R32R.

Quiet mission as far as the escort goes.
There were 2 bandit groups for the whole flight, the first one, a 2ship of Mig29s was taken out by AI flights.
The second one, probably 21s, was taken out by Viper, since the bandits were coming from NE, and Viper was closer.
Otherwise, outside of having to go between SA2s, SA17s, SA5s, mission was quiet. |
