Posted - 17 May 2005 : 20:06:18 This week the teams took on a challenging brief to destroy an underground factory and 2 associated bunkers. The flight was divided into a 3 ship strike flight preceded by a 3 ship (SEAD) Escort. Successful completion of this mission required among other things the correct choice of A-G ordnance to penetrate the hardened concrete targets.
RED Flight (reinforced by Command) took this on as a 4 ship mission (2 in the strike, 2 in the Escort) and made a creditable attempt managing to hit the target, but the chosen weapons loadout failed to make an impression. 2 pilots were lost to airdefences therefore a Partial success was recorded in the Escort but the strike was a mission fail.
BLUE fared slightly better bringing all 4 pilots home therefore recording a Success for the Escort, but again the strike failed to destroy the target despite multiple hits from a variety of weapons.
GREEN were the first team to claim the honour of being the first in the CPL to put out a full compliment of 6 pilots (helped by a rare guest appearance from SnakeEyes) and this was reflected in their excellent results. 5 pilots returned safely to base from the 6 who set out, Escort was a success and the strike was a partial, with Bigdawg successfully destroying the Underground factory with a salvo of 4 JSAWs, however the bunkers were only damaged despite repeated hits. Focus claimed 3 AA victories in a good all round team performance.
BLACK once again stole the show with a magnificent team performance to return a success in both the Escort and Strike flights. All 3 targets were clinically taken out with 2 precision JDAM hits on each, with all 5 pilots safely returning to base. Vosene once again claimed top individual score with 74 and the flight as a whole top scored with 372. A superb all round team performance, very well flown to you all.
BLUE retain their lead at the top of the Quarter/YTD standings but now only with a wafer thin margin of 7 points. Vosene consolidates his lead at the top of the individual standings.
Full results in detail available in the CPL section of the War Room.
