Congratulations to Sharpe who wins this years tournament with a grand total of 202 points.
Very close in 2nd place is Poppy with 201 points. (now that IS close)
3rd place goes to Ironman with 199 points.

Thanks also to Crowebar and Zipgun who tried the first half of the competition.
Well done to all who competed and thanks for taking part. I think everyone who took part enjoyed it and were surprised at the things they did with the stress of a ticking clock at the back of their minds.

Well where to begin.
I think most of those who signed up didn't expect that their own reaction to flying these "tests" would be as tense as they were. this was especially evident in the first two flights where the focus on being fast clouded over their personal SOP in the pit. For example, flying so fast in Cat III that they damage the kite and can't drop weapons or flying to high and getting busy with a SAM missile.
Once everyone had experienced that first session, they were ready for the next two tests. Now I have wondered whether or not some of the basic mistakes would have occurred if I had run the second patch of flights closer to the first set rather than the three month gap. Who knows.
We did however have some basic ( and entertaining for me ) errors made. I shall not mention any names but someone became very frustrated that the MFDs wouldn't come on for their Maverics until they realised that they hadn't switched the Master Arm to "Arm". Like I said this test made guys do the strangest things.
One area in test 3 with the active SA-2 that surprised me was the number of you who went in to attack it with AGM65D at high level instead of going in below it's engagement altitude. Some were fired at and lost valuable time in evasive action.
The main thing I found interesting was the choice of weapons.
In the depot attack in test 3, the choices ranged from the following, with varied results;
MK82 LDGP
AGM65G
MK84 AIR
GBU10
GBU24
JDAM
GBU32 V1/B
and in test 4 on the factory and depot attack most of you went for GBU24 but others chose:
GBU12B/B
AGM65G
MK84AIR
In both, the use of Maverics alone was a risk on the status of the target over time saved using stand off weapons. Other than that the dumb bombs paid dividends in the depot attack while GBU24s were the best choice for the final mission.
Fuel management was good overall, but some returned home with more fuel than they wanted, knowing that it cost them time.
Overall a really good show by everyone, but at the same time it showed (for me anyway) that we are not fully aware of what weapons can do in terms of damage.
I really enjoyed running this competition and hopefully we can do this later this year and see if Sharpe can keep the cup.

Well done for everyone taking part, there are few decent excuses for failing to take part in these events.
Very many thanks to Griffin for setting it all up. It is no small undetaking, as those that have ever taken the time to build a mission will know. Looking forward to the 2015 tourney :)
Griffin, could I ask (as if you haven't done enough already) to post a mini debrief here of the things people did well or badly or where you think we all needed improvement or what were really good at, common mistakes etc. Speaking as TO it would be really useful to learn from this event and what you saw from the inside of the tent.
Again, well done to everyone.

Sharpe Congratulations! Well deserved and happy to be a strong contender. Had a lot of fun with the Mudpounders Cup. Thanks for organising this, and the time and effort that was put into this.
